The Heartbreak

chapter 1-Coming

I'm sitting in my room with my book on my hand when suddenly there is a loud knock on the door. I jump up from the sudden noise and say "Coming."

As soon as I open the door a hand comes flying and slaps me across my face. I look up to see Aseb furiously looking at me. When he speaks his voice is deep and threatening,"Can't you perform a single task?! I told you to JUST clean the car. Can't you do it?"

When I speak my mind is filled with confusion."But I washed it." He points a finger at me before jabbing it hard into my shoulder blade making me shift and hurting like hell. He responds angrily." It didn't look like you had washed it."

"But I washed it..." I say my voice wavering

"I don't care. Go and wash it again."

"Okay-" that is the only word I manage to speak before being pushed out of the door of the house and out into the hallway. So before you think I'm a freakin idiot listening to Aseb I'm telling you that I'm not. 'Cause I'm a pathetic, weak and an extremely good girl. I follow everything I'm told to do because that's what my parents have taught me over the years to be a good girl and listen to every thing quietly without protesting because that's what good girls do.

After half an hour of cleaning I come back to home. The clock's striking 10 when I come back to the house. Aseb is sitting on the sofa watching a football match, his coat on the floor, tie on the table socks under his legs and his shirt thrown on the chair nearby. I start to tell him the millionth time to put his clothes in place when he say, "Put the clothes away, I'm really tired and can't move."

I breathe in deeply to control my anger because I needed to ask him about the family gathering going to take place. Ever since mom and dad died in a car accident he was all I had but he hasn't proposed me yet, I don't know why... So back to the topic there is very few family left for me after mom and dad- Matthew my brother and some close uncles and aunts.

I pick up his clothes and put them in the basket so I can wash them afterwards. Then I go and sit down beside him. When I lean towards him he pushes me and says, " I'm tired and really not in a position of talking let me watch my match quietly." With that he again faces the television.

"I'll put up the dinner then.", I say standing up. "I already had it." He says without further explanation.

"But I was waiting for you so we could have dinner together." I say. "I had a meeting. I don't want to discuss it. Next time dont wait for me when I say I'm going to come late." He says ending the discussion.

After the match is over Aseb comes to the bedroom changes and goes straight to the bed. I lie down beside him. He turnd towards the lamp and when he is about to switch it off I speak.

"Matthew told me we are having a family gathering at Aunt Sony's house. I wanted to ask about it."

"Go, I don't have any problem."

"No, I meant if you could come with me...?"

"When is it?"

"Day after tomorrow-Sunday",I say. "No I can't make it. I have a meeting." These are the only words before he switches the lamp off cutting off any chance of further discussion and turning away from me and going to sleep. With that I also go to sleep.
