Sonali's Pov

Going to Robin's office was something I always despised. But the work was necessary, so I decided to just take the money and leave. I do not have to face him, right ?

Wrong. It turned out that Robin was himself waiting with the bag in the lobby of the office. His stupid face had that stupid smile that I hated so much.

"Ah, long time no see, Miss Bose ! How have you been ?"

I smiled back. A fake smile.
"Forget about me, Sir, let's talk about you ; you look quite happy, may I know the reason ?"

He laughed loudly, "Isn't it obvious ? Well, anyone would be happy to see a friend after such a long time, isn't it ?"

If I could roll my eyes, those would have been probably at the back of my head right now. This guy ! I hate him much more than I hate anyone, even more than that Niladri Das !
What the hell ? Where did he come from ?! Why think of him now ?!

I laughed to cover my thoughts, "Hah ! Well, can't argue with that ! I'm sure people love to meet me. I have that kind of charisma, I would say."

He smirked, "As much as I would have loved to talk to you, it will be dark soon, and I don't want you to get late because of me. Here is the address where you have to meet Mr. Sethi's man and hand over the money to him." He gave me a small piece of paper on which an address was written and also the bag of money.

Something about the whole situation was making me uneasy. Robin was oddly happy. He didn't seem to mind that Pamela wasn't the one who came, instead it was me, his greatest nemesis. He behaved as a friend, but only I knew his smile was suspicious.

I put the piece of paper into my purse, feeling the cold blade of the knife I kept there before leaving. I have seen a lot of people in life, and have learnt over time it's better safe than sorry.

I smiled. "I'll take your leave then. Good bye."

He smiled too, but a sly smile, "Take care, Miss Bose. Bye-bye !"

While driving to the location, a lot of possibilities came into my mind. None of them could explain why Robert uncle would comply with whatever Robin was planning, if something was really not right. A lot of questions ran through my mind, but I couldn't answer any of them.
Why didn't Robin call me as he usually does whenever he has something to do with Pamela ? Why did he allow Pamela to take my permission, knowing obviously I would say no as usual ? If he was indeed planning something, how come Robert uncle gave confirmation on the same ? Why was Robin wasn't mad because his plan to bring Pamela out failed ? Or was it his plan to involve me, instead of Pamela ? Did he purposefully made Pamela the bait to get to me ? If so, then why ? What's his plan ?
Why does everything seems right, but doesn't feel like it ?

My suspicions grew further when I reached the location. The time was around 6 pm, and only a little light remained in the surrounding. It was dark mostly, mainly because there were no houses, no livelihood nearby. The only buildings that remained were probably some dilapidated factories. Not a soul could be seen in near vicinity, not even an animal was visible. Despite the shabiness of the place, I wasn't surprised. Somehow I expected such shadiness from Robin and Mr. Sethi.
I clutched the bag of money and placed the other hand into my purse, holding the knife ready, my senses on full alert.
