A.N : This is a special chapter cause it's divided into 2 parts. I had to divide this into two because the chapter was really long. Enjoy!

Sonali's pov

I shivered a little when a gust of cold air hit me suddenly. I cursed the moment I decided not to wear warm clothes while coming for a run. It was almost a week before Christmas, yet I decided that since December in Kolkata isn't "that" cold, I wouldn't need  warm clothes. And besides, running warms up the body and makes it sweat more. But instead of feeling warm, the cold wind blowing every now and then was shaking me up. The intermingling of the wind and the sweat rattled my bones. I decided to take a u-turn and head towards home. The migraine pains were enough nuisance, I didn't want cough and cold to add up on the list.

By the time I reached home, Bina had prepared the cookies and chocolates and laid them on the table. Oh yes, today is the day to visit my babies!" . I was anxious to see my children. Since I am usually quite busy before the Christmas holidays, Bina and I decided to utilise the Sunday and go and pay them a visit. I cannot bring them to my house, so I pay them a visit every now and then, whenever I get time enough to spend with them. The Christmas day is traditionally spent at Robert Uncle's house every year, so I devote my time to my children before the Christmas day each year.

I mentally smiled as I pictured their reaction upon seeing me. As I went in for a shower,I pondered upon what to wear. Most of my wardrobe consisted of black, but the children do not like it at all. The hot water cascaded down my body as I recalled them complain to me once,  "Why do you wear black all the time? Black is not nice, black is evil,  but you are nice. Mimi, if you wear black, you will become evil too, so no black from now on."

And since my babies didn't like black, I refrained from wearing that colour whenever I visit them. In fact, with the persuasion of Bina and the children, I have separated few outfits of different colours in another wardrobe. I rarely touch it, only when I go to visit the children, or some other 'special' occasions ( that hardly ever occurs ).

I decided to keep it casual and warm and chose a blue jeans and a sleeveless top, a cream-coloured cardigan, and paired the outfit with matching pearl earrings and a cream bracelet. I hardly wear anything other than a watch on normal days, but time isn't my priority when I'm with my children. I never wear a watch when I visit them, never.

We arrived at our destination within half an hour's time. The signboard greeted us at the gate in which was written in bold letters - 'Little Angels Orphanage and Care Home'. I parked the car at a suitable distance and walked towards the orphanage with my hands full of chocolates and other delicious delicacies. Bina followed me with the gifts we brought for the children.

As soon as the children noticed us from the windows, without any heed to their caretakers, ran towards us. They were super excited to see us. I laughed when the caretakers ran behind them, exasperated. When the little ones finally reached us, instead of greeting us first, they started peeping inside the bags. I snatched thr bags away and handed them over to the caretakers, pretending that the gifts were for them.

Arshi, a little girl of five, looked up at me with cute puppy-eyes and pouted, "Those were our gifts, you should let us see them."

I pretended to be serious, with my best poker face I said, "Who said those gifts were for you all ? You guys receive gifts every now and then. You recently received so many gifts before Durga Puja, did you forget ? so, this time we decided to bring gifts for your caretakers. They deserve gifts too, handling naughty little monsters like you all isn't a simple feat."
They all started making noises that ranged from groaning to whining to complaining loudly. At last when they practically went all over us, I decided to end the ruse and handed them their gifts. They were so happy that only their smile lit up the entire atmosphere. They thanked me and Bina profusely, giving us tight hugs, and we hugged them back.
The children call me "Mimi", which means maternal aunt in some cases and in some cases mother itself. I never stop them. They were like my own children, and I loved them a lot.

After we spent a few minutes with them, the caretakers took them all for a bath. Bina went in to help them, while I went in to visit the Head of the Orphanage,  matron Monica.
