Never Be Alone

Part Four

I drove the car frantically, trying to keep calm and trying to figure out what to do

I couldn't bring them back there

"Acai do you want to stay they night with a friend? Since it's Friday?"

"Sure"

"Okay"

We pulled up to her friend's who didn't live too far

Mrs. Riggins opened the door before we got a chance to knock

"Hi you guys!" Shes always happy

"Come on in, Elena's in her room go on up," she waited for her to leave

"I got your message is everything okay?" She said breaking character

"Yeah my mom and dad are fighting and I don't want her to be around that" I told her honestly

"Well she can stay for as long as you need" She spoke gently

"Thank you, but I think they'll figure it out soon. I'll try and pick her up Sunday morning if that works"

"Are you okay your cheeks look a little red?" She asked with a face of concern

"Yeah just a bit hot from getting him in and out of the car"

I got back in the car and decided to try and see if I could go over Kyras for a while. I called her on speaker phone as I drove to her side of town

I tried a couple times and got no answer. She must be with Jason somewhere

We were already on this side of town so I decided to take him to the park until I could reach her

Parking the car I turned and looked at him. He gave me an almost toothless smile. He didn't seem to sense anything bad was going on

I heard him start to cry as I left his sight to get his stroller from the trunk. I pulled him out and buckled him in and headed for the baby swings

After 30 minutes of trying to entertain Junie I decided we would go sit in the grass and I tried Kyra again. No answer

5 minutes later my phone began to ring. Kyra. Thank god

"Kyra! I've been calling where are you?"

"I'm at the bowling alley with Jason and his idiot friends"

"That's Friday activities I guess. When will you be home?"

"I'm not sure maybe in about an hour"

I sighed silently but didn't want to worry her so I just said okay

Now to kill more time

I figured maybe we can just take a walk near by

We headed off into some random neighborhood and walked for some 15 minutes before hearing people arguing outside

"I need you to keep him! He needs a male influence in his life!" I heard from around the right side of the house. The husky voice belonged to a woman standing halfway out a white Toyota

I was about to turn around but decided to take a closer look. Who was she yelling at and for what? I'm too nosey

Peeping my head around the house further I saw a boy my age standing close to the car looking embarrassed as he held a black duffel bag

A skinny bald man yelled back from the porch
"I'm not surprised with the way that he is seeing as who he has for a mother!"

Baby mama drama? Whew

I was going to listen a little longer to get the storyline straight before Junie let out a cry because we had been still for too long

The two kept arguing but the boy whipped his head in our direction but looked down the street not seeing us

I took that as my sign and decided to turn around before he saw us

Good lord its been like 3 or 4 years since I published a chapter and I am assuming this will get no views but I just wanted to get back into writing
