"Welcome to the panic room, where all your darkest fears are gonna come for you..."
I froze. It was pitch black, no matter where I looked, and that creepy voice kept echoing in my head. I attempted to look at my arms, but I was unable to see them. To think that it's so dark you can't even see yourself...
Then a light flashed in my face, causing me to drop to the ground in fear. It started off by flashing slowly, but the gradually got quicker and quicker. I finally got a good look of my surroundings, talking it all I could. There was nothing to see.
Jeez, this could be a fear for all I know.
I stood back up and dusted myself off, still looking around expectantly. There was nothing in sight except endless white walls. I began walking around, looking for any signs of a door or window of some sort.
I finally caught a glimpse of black in the distance, so I decided to head in that direction thinking it was a way out. As I got closer to the thing, the flashes got slower, and then suddenly I was unable to walk any further. It's not that I didn't want to get closer, it's that I couldn't get closer.
It was like my feet were glued to the ground. A wave of panic washed over me and I stared at the black thing. Something was off about it.
I squinted in attempt to study it, and my heart dropped when I realized what was happening.
That black thing was getting closer and closer every time the light flashes.
Light off. Pitch black. Light on. It's closer. Light off. Nothing. Light on...
It's right in front of me.
I screamed and tried to run away, but my feet were stuck to the ground. The flashes became quick again and the more I struggled, the faster they were.
My Lord I'm about to have a seizure if the lights don't stop.
The figure had very few facial features, but they will scar me for the rest of my life. It's mouth was open and it had sharp teeth that were stained red, as if it's eaten many victims that happen to see it as well. And it's eyes were just glowing red. That was it, no nose or anything. I slowly examined the rest of it, taking in every detail. It was long and lanky, and its arms ended with its hands and the fingers looked like claws.
I collapsed to the ground, my eyes wide as I just stared at it, paralyzed and petrified. Its mouth opened wide, as if it was going to take a bite of me.
But it didn't.
Instead, it let out a jarring screech that practically made my ears bleed. I covered my ears as tightly as I could, but it was so loud.
"Stop it! Make it stop!" I screamed back at it.
It obeyed me. It shut its mouth and just stared at me. God, nothing can describe how terrifying it was.
Slowly, much to my surprise, it started fading into something, or should I say someone, else. I was just about to get a good look at their face when it became dark again, not allowing either of us to see.
Then the light turned on completely, leaving us stranded on top of a skyscraper.
I gasped and backed away from the edge it dropped us on, my heart thumping hard. This is one of my fears, the very first one.
Heights.
I covered my eyes to conceal the drop that I could see, only to release my hands back onto my lap.
How am I going to move on to the next fear? People said that you need to embrace and get over it to move on, but to be honest I think it's going to be worse after this.
Lost in my thoughts, I didn't even notice the other presence that was with me until it spoke up.
"Y/n?"
I flinched and slowly turned back to the voice that called me.
Oh my God.
My eyes widen along with theirs in disbelief. There was no way he could possibly be here right now unless there was a glitch in the system.
A glitch in the system...
My eyes widen even more. This is what that woman was panicked about back in the room.
My mouth dropped as we continued to stare at each other, completely mortified.
"Hoseok? Is that seriously you?"
