Days passed. Weeks even. Every day I had Capitol men all over me in my cell, and they did something to Peeta too. Each day he hated Katniss a little bit more, and honestly, I was getting tired of listening to him blame her for the entire rebellion. It wasn't fair; even though I'd spent weeks away from the outside world inside this cell, I still knew the rebellion couldn't be blamed entirely on her. But Peeta was my only company, besides the Capitol men, so I had to deal with it.

One particular day, I got really tired of listening to his complaining, so I sat in the very back corner of my cell where it was dark. A couple of Peacekeepers took Peeta out of his cell like they did every day, so I was alone.

Suddenly, one of the doors in the hallway burst open and a Peacekeeper ran inside. He quickly unlocked my cell, and I cringed against the wall. Maybe I'd be hidden in the darkness, but I doubted it. The Peacekeeper pulled out a flashlight and found me in the darkness almost instantly. He walked over to me and knelt down in front of me.

The man pulled his helmet off and threw it aside. He smiled widely at me, and asked, "Are you Annie?"

I pushed myself against the wall as much as I could. If only I were a ghost. Or invisable. "Y--yes," I muttered, "Please, if you're going to do something to me, can you make it quick? I've already had two other people in here today and I--"

His laughter cut me off. "No, sweetheart, I'm not here to hurt you. I'm here to rescue you. I'll explain more in the hovercraft, but we've got to go now."

The man picked me up and carried me bridal style down hallway after hallway until I saw the sunlight coming through a door. It hurt my eyes alot, so I closed them until I was safely in the hovercraft and the door was shut. My rescuer wrapped a sheet around me, and for the first time I noticed my dress was so tattered I was nearly naked. How embarrassing. But then again, they never gave me any other clothes to wear, so it wasn't my fault.

I sat in a chair across from my rescuer. He explained to me that the others who were also trapped here still needed to be found, and until then, we were going to sit it the hovercraft and I could ask him whatever I wanted to know.

"W--where's Finnick?" I whispered, "Is he okay?"

The man paused, thinking of how to word what he wanted to say. I braced myself for the worst. "'Okay' isn't exactly the right word. Safe, yes. In District 13."

"What do you mean?"

"District 13 is where the rebel base camp is located. We've lived secretly underground for ages, and now we're finally st--"

"No, not about that. What did you mean about Finnick?"

The hovercraft doors were shut, and we began to take off. I hadn't even noticed the other people as they were dragged on with us, but they were moved to separate rooms.

My rescuer reached across to me and touched my hand gently. I flinched a little before I remembered I was safe now, so I allowed him to keep his hand there. "He's gotten a little, uh, unstable without you. He worries so much that it's consumed him."

"He...he worries about me that much?"

He nodded. "Yes. You're very lucky to have someone who cares about you so much. Not many people can say they have that."

I smiled for the first time in months. Finally I knew that my Finnick was safe. And I knew exactly what it felt like to go crazy, and he was there to help me through. I figured me just being around him would fix him right up.

The windows of the hovercraft were blacked out, for obvious reasons, but when my rescuer announced that we would be arriving shortly, I started jumping up and down in my seat like a little kid. I was so happy that soon I would see the love of my life. Soon we would be together again.

I jumped so high that I nearly hit the ceiling when I felt the hovercraft land hard on the ground. We were stopped, and I wondered why they weren't opening the doors already. I looked to my rescuer expantantly, pleading with my eyes to know where to find Finnick.

Somehow, he seemed to know exactly what I wanted. "A little ways down the hovercraft runway, there's an elevator. Take it to 5B, and he'll be somewhere there."

As soon as he was done speaking, the hovercraft doors slid open. And as soon as they did, I took off in a full sprint down the runway.

It took only seconds for me to get to the elevator, and waiting for it to arrive felt like ages. But when it did, I got in quickly. There were at least 200 buttons, but eventually I found 5B and pressed it. The elevator started going up, and then went sideways. I caught my breath when the door opened and began running again, screaming his name.

"Finnick!" I called. "Finnick, where are you?"

I ran into countless people, all wearing grey and blurring together. The hallways twisted and turned, and even though I had no idea where I was going, I continued running and screaming his name.

Finally, I had to stop to catch my breath. I was lightheaded. I leaned against the wall, panting, and called out to him one more time.

This time, I heard a faint voice call back in surprise. "Annie?"

I started to run again, screaming for Finnick. I was frantic. And everytime I called out, I would here my name called in return. Each time, it sounded closer, so I continued running.

I turned one last corner and stopped dead in my tracks. There he was, flawless as ever in a hospital gown, looking around as frantically as I was.

I took a deep breath in and screamed his name again. He turned and looked at me, and our eyes met. Smiles glided across both of our faces, and I ran to him.

I wrapped my legs around him and squeezed him tightly. He held me against the wall and ran his fingers through my hair, as if trying to make sure I was real. We kissed each other slowly and passionately.

As we held each other, I whispered in his ear, "Don't ever leave me again."

And into my ear, he whispered, "Never."
