⚔Chapter 5⚔

-normal POV-

"So, what's the other way?"

Synthia spoke up, recovering from her shock as Mizumi ran to their friend & hugged her.

"We need the cursed demon slayer -me-, my familiar, a written incantation & a demon's claws." Anika explained, pointing to herself.

"I have demons claws..." Mizumi murmured, pulling out the necklace she wore. On the end were 3 demons claws, she pulled one off & showed them.

"Great, now the incantation." Synthia said, trying to be enthusiastic.

"I'll tell you what to write," Anika started as Nasumi grabbed a piece of paper, "demons of fire, & the flames they create; scratch with a claw, then connect to the chosen familiars paw." She told us, Shizuka laughed nervously,

"It sounds like some sort of prophecy..." She said, obviously spooked by the whole thing.

"Well, I guess in some way it is." Nasumi replied, putting down the pen she had been using, "is there a certain place we need to be when we do it?" She asked, giving Mizumi & Anika a questioning look;

"There just needs to be fire, that's it." Anika informed her, the five girls went outside & followed the familiar pathway to their training grounds where they could keep a controlled fire. They went to the small shed where their familiars lived;

"Kaede, Aoi~" Mizumi called, her gaze searching the shed for their cat sedhés.

"Mrrow~!" A black feline-looking demon stepped out from behind some crates, the horns on it's head & double tail the only things suggesting it was other than it's appearance suggested.

"Hi Kaede, go get Aoi would you?" The small cat sídhe nodded & went to find her friend. (a/n: The Cat Sídhe demons are from Ao no exorcist // Blue exorcist)

-Mizumi's POV-

"Prrow" Aoi came running over, only Anika & I can understand them. Kaede followed,

"We're here~" she meowed, grinning. I smiled back at the two, quickly giving them their instructions.

"You guys need to stop people from interfering with us. Ok?" I told them, pointing to Anika as a hint for our purpose. They nodded & ran off while we continued to the training area, of which we called Slayer's Grave. It's called that because it was originally going to be a cemetery, & was one except they never buried anyone here. So, we bought it & now we use it as a training area. It isn't far from Phoenix Nest but no one except our guild know about it.

-Anika's POV-

I had set up a ring of Fire & stepped inside it, standing in the middle as I waited for Mizumi to start reading the incantation. Aoi bounded over to us & Syth put out some of the Flames for her to cross, which I then re-lit. I watched Aoi make four paw prints in what would've been the corners of a square had i drawn one for her. Then, she made more prints & fitted her own paws into them in front of me but not within the boundaries of her small square. It was then that Mizumi began to read.

"demons of fire, & the flames they create;" she began, I took the demon claw & readied it; holding it above my wrist, "scratch with a demon's claw then connect to the chosen familiars paw." I scratched myself with the claw, wincing at the pain. Aoi pressed her paw onto the wound & I started turning back to normal. For some reason, it hurt & I cried out as the immense pain started to effect me. Mizumi & Synthia looked shocked that I was hurting, while Nasumi & Shizuka just looked scared.

I screamed again, tears were forming in my eyes; it hurt like I was being stabbed with a sword, it's blade piercing right through my heart. I started coughing, blood spattering the ground. The wind whipped around me & Aoi could barely keep her paw connected to my arm where blood still flowed freely from the open wound ?I myself had created using Mizumi's claw.

Then; the pain went away.
