Sweet Dreams (Belphie x Reader)

(Minor Spoilers)

Y/N was in a dark area. The darkness looked like moving shadows, eerily standing in one place. Y/N's eyes were slowly adjusting to the murk surrounding them. Y/N stood there in silence, still trying to piece together what was going on.

.

*Boom*

There was a loud bang that shook the ground that Y/N was standing on.

*BOOM*

Y/N heard and felt the noise again, louder and stronger this time. They looked back and forth, looking for the owner of the noise, fear now striking Y/N's mind.

*BOOM*

There was a figure standing a couple hundred feet. It had a goat-like head and horns that curved upwards. It had a long tail with a frayed tip. The rest of the beast's body was human-like as it had built legs and arms. It was standing on both legs as the creature had its back turned away from Y/N. 

Y/N gasped in surprise as their gaze was dead set on the monster before them. The brute had heard the soft noise and turned around to face Y/N, its golden eyes piercing through their soul. The hybrid suddenly got on all fours and started running towards Y/N as their eyes widened in terror.

Y/N quickly turned around to run, adrenaline pumping through their veins. Y/N took their first step in the opposite direction of the beast, but Y/N's movements were slow. No matter how hard Y/N tried, their legs didn't move any faster. Y/N finally took their next step, their fear grew more and more intense by the second.

The creature was getting closer and closer, the sound of its harsh breathing getting louder and louder. It seemed like one million years before Y/N made their third step. The beast now towered over Y/N. Unfortunately, Y/N tripped on their feet, their body hitting the floor. Y/N looked up at the monster, its arm coiled back.

It made a fist with its hand.

"No." Y/N thought, their mind racing.

"Y/N."

Its strong arm was now descending towards Y/N. 

"No!" Y/N repeated.

"Y/N!"

Its large fist was now right in front of Y/N's face.

"NO!!!" Y/N screamed.

"Y/N! Wake up!" Belphie said, gently shaking them.

Y/N slowly opened their tired eyes, slightly squinting. Belphie sat up straight on his purple bed, hovering over Y/N. His expression was soft but concerned. His silky hair was a bit messy as he had also just woken up. 

"Ugh...Belphie?..." Y/N asked, still in a daze.

"You were talking in your sleep," Belphie stated. "Did you have a bad dream?"

It took Y/N a moment to register the question. The memory of the nightmare suddenly came back to them as chills went down Y/N's back. Y/N whimpered as they recoiled into the bed and gripped onto Belphie's sleeve.

"Hey. Are you okay?" Belphie asked with worry.

Y/N averted their gaze. "Y-yeah...I was just...so scared."

Belphie stared at Y/N with expecting eyes. Y/N took a deep breath before proceeding to tell him about the dream. Looking back at it now, the dream felt all too real to Y/N. Y/N shuddered as they recounted the story, while Belphie patiently listened.

Y/N finally completed the story, still on edge about the whole incident.

"It's okay. I'm here. I won't let anyone hurt you." Belphie said reassuringly, a look of empathy and care on his face.

Y/N relaxed a bit but was still terrified. Belphie noticed this and started stroking Y/N's back. After a few minutes of this treatment, Y/N was now calm. Y/N pulled Belphie down into an embrace, their head buried into Belphie's chest. Belphie placed his chin in Y/N's hair.

"Nighty-night..." Belphie mumbled, slowly starting to doze off.

"Belphie, can you tell me a story?" Y/N asked.

"Hm?" Belphie grunted tiredly.

"Please?" Y/N pleaded.

Y/N looked up at Belphie with puppy eyes. It caught him by surprise but thought it was rather cute. Belphie chuckled, his chest making vibrations against Y/N's cheek. 

"Alright, alright, I will." Belphie said with a gentle smile.

Y/N smiled back, grateful that Belphie accepted their childish request.

"There once was an angel. A really kind angel who had angel brothers that cared for her," Belphie started. "They all lived in peace with the other angels and their father. Over time, she grew interested in humans and soon, she fell in love with one."

Y/N's eyelids were slowly growing heavy.

"One day, the human she was in love with suddenly became sick but, she was determined to heal him, no matter what. She stole some special food from her home to help cure his disease but this wasn't allowed. The angels weren't supposed to interfere with a human's lifespan." Belphie continued.

Belphie's body heat was coaxing Y/N to sleep, their vision gradually darkening.

"Her father became angry with her. He decided to punish her, but her brothers wouldn't let that happ-"

Belphie looked down at Y/N's sleeping form, their chest rising at a steady pace. Belphie's lips had turned into a tender smile. Belphie pulled Y/N closer to him as he planted a small kiss on their cheek.

"Goodnight, Y/N," Belphie whispered, his eyes closed.

"Sweet dreams..." 

Author's note: So I was messing around with this Obey Me! date generator where you could input your name into the program and a random scenario with you and the characters would pop up and I thought of the genius idea of putting the names of the actual characters into the generator to see what would happen and...
