School Reopened .... The very first day of school after the vacations comes up with a morning assembly . The regular prayer went well  . Pallavi was never always among those who beleived in standing in attention all time in the assembly , but she couldnt manage her well that day .
She was about to faint , when a teacher noticed her , held her , and made her sit on the staircase .
The teacher offerred her a water bottle and asked if she was okay , but before Pallavi could understand anything she fainted in her arms .

When her eyes opened , Pallavi found herself in her gynaecologist's clinic , who calmed her down and took a bried history from her .
All this happened 10 days before Pallavi was going to turn 16 . SWEET SIXTEEN , they call it for girls here . But it was a bit too sweet for Pallavi this time , since she got diagnosed with Diabetes .
None of her family members had any idea of what to do , how to deal with it .
As they left the doctor's clinic , Pallavi looked at her parents for an answer , but her father drove the car to home in silence . No one uttered a word .
They came home , searched for the best Diabetes doctors in their state . And consulted a few in the next 2 days .

It seemed like Pallavi just lost her charm . She went numb after that day . Doctors made her beleive that she will be used to this . But was she really ready for an un invited , unwanted , disease that 24/7 made her realise that she had a useless pancreas that couldnt make her enough insulin to survive !

Next day when they visited the doctor referred by  a close  relative , they were told that , its gonna stay for lifetime , that it has not got any cure and all that  Pallavi could do is just CONTROL .
A girl who wasnt adult enough to spend her birthday alone with friends , suddenly matured enough to spend rest of her life with insulin pumps .

She was admitted to  a hospital where She just spent days and nights watching walls of her room , as the only person she had on her side was her mother who was too busy handling everything around me , from changing my clothes , to remembering my medicine timings , from entertaining the relative's calls to answering my nurses call . She had 12 hands during that period .
But she wasnt enough to Answer the Question that was roaming in Pallavi's head i.e. 'WHY SHE  ?'

As a medical student , the atmosphere at the hospital attracted Pallavi so much , She used to look at how the doctors gained respect from everyone for everything they do . When her doctors used to visit her for regular check up , all she analysed was how to learn something new from them . Being the youngest patient on that floor , Pallavi was pampered by all . The kitchen staff  . nurses . head doctors . all kept special care of her . The journey at hospital was tough but all that Pallavi Cared was about a discharge . and her BIRTHDAY

She got a discharge from the hospital soon ... after 7 tough days , she was back at home , And as her SWEET SIXTEEN ARRIVED , People came to wish her , with sweets and icecreams and cakes , And With'  STATEMENTS '
One moment,  they bring cake and icecream , and at other moment they said ' Dont Even Think Of Touching these ' .
Its ironical , Pallavi couldn't realise of they came to wish her , or to make her realise her disability .
Nothing bothered her , Until she saw her father crying .
Nothing Can be Worse then seeing your father cry , with you yourself being the reason for it .
But Pallavi was unaware that her father had tears in his eyes out of care of her future . The relatives made him realise about the difficulties he was gonna face in raising a daughter with diabetes , the difficulty in getting her married .
