Chapter 20

Stella's P.O.V.

I felt a hand on my back and turn to face the intruder. Asher sat beside me with a soft smile. I wiped the tears from my eyes and sat up. "Hey little sis. You ok?" He asked and I shake my head. "I am here for you, you know that right. I am here to listen. What's going on?" I stare at my hand. "He hates me for bringing in Kat... but I couldn't let myself leave her. I feel as if she belongs here with us.." I sigh. "Tell him that." I look at my brother. "Like I could get something like that through his thick skull." I said and he laughed. "Hey you never know. Give him a day or two and see what happens." I sigh and lay my head on his shoulder. "Why is it so hard? Things weren't like this in Black Sky... everyone was at peace... why are they trying to bring war because of me.." I say quietly. "They are stupid. I never trusted Titus." I look at my brother and see he looks angry. I ignored it. "I need to go get Kat from Lilly." He nods and stands up with me and follows me out. He goes to his own room while I make it downstairs. "Stella!" I am attacked by a very happy Kat who hugs me. "Hey Kat ready to go to bed?" She nods her head and I pick her up into my arms. Lilly smiled at me and went to Alister. Aria and Jamie were sitting together. Jamie looked at me. "Kaiden was looking for you." He said and I froze. He was looking for me? I thought he was angry with me. I nod. "Thanks Jamie. See you later Aria." They both nod and I take Kat back to the room I was in before. I sat her on the bed. "Get some sleep sweetie, you need it." I smile and tuck her in. She yawns and closes her eyes. I wait till she is completely asleep then I sneak out of the room and slowly walk to Kaiden's room. I was still furious with him about not defending me against that bitch from before. He better be ready to apologize. I knock on the door. "Come in." I hear and I walk in. "Stella." He nods his head. I hide the pain I feel. "What do you want?" I asked and he turns to put something in a drawer. "I want the girl gone." I stare at him in shock. This is the reason he called me here? To tell me I must get rid of my little Kat. I glare at him. "Not going to happen." I cross my arms over my chest as he turns and looks at me. I feel anger coming. "It's not your decision Stella. She is a human, she doesn't belong here." He said with a hint of anger. "I don't care. It is my decision Kaiden. I am the Luna of this pack, which means I have a say in what goes on here." I growl at him and he growls back. "Fine. But when she gets killed because of another pack, or because of rouges. Don't come crying to me about it." I stared at him, completely shocked at what he had just said. I felt a tear roll down my cheek. I turn and ran from the room, slamming the door in the process. I ran downstairs, bumping into Alister on the way. "Stella what's wrong?" I ignored his question. "Tell Lilly to watch Kat please." I said, trying to fight more tears. He just nods and I run out the front door and into the forest. I shift as I jump out the door. I keep running until I find a small field. I stop and shift back as I drop to the ground and let the tears go. I didn't know how long I was crying out there but it was now pitch black out. I sat up and let my hair cover myself. I look around, feeling like I'm being watched. I shrug it off and shift back into my wolf and begin making my way home. My heart hurts from how Kaiden treated me. I love him but I never knew he could be so cruel. I got back home and found some clothes to put on before I went to the room where Kat was. I got there and saw Lilly and Alister asleep on the couch. I smiled. Why couldn't Kaiden do that for me? I went over and woke Alister. He looked up at me and smiled softly. "You ok Stell?" I nod. "I'm alright. Take Lilly back to your own room, thanks for watching Kat." He sit up. "You know if you ever need somebody to talk to, I'm here for ya. I don't understand what's happening with you right now but I know you need somebody. Lilly and I would be happy to help you." I smile as he speaks. "That mean a lot Alister. Thank you. I'll keep that in mind." I say and then I watch as he picks up Lilly and carries her out of the room. I sit on the couch and let my mind wonder. What will I do about Kaiden if he keeps this up. I let myself slip into silent darkness as my mind continues to wonder.
