Chapter 22

Stella's P.O.V.

We got to the house and head inside. "We have a surprise for you Kat." I say and she smiles at me. "Really? What is it?" She asks and I laugh. "Come and see." I take her hand and lead her upstairs with Kaiden following right behind. We get to the room and I open the door. She gasps and runs in. "This is amazing!" She jumps into her giant bed and curls up in the fuzzy blanket. I smile and look at Kaiden who is smiling as well. "Thank you thank you thank you!" She runs up and hugs me. "He helped too." I tell her and she looks up at Kaiden who stiffens. "Thank you Mr. Kaiden." She says and hugs him. He doesn't move. I laugh and he glares at me. Kat runs and starts looking around her new room. "I'm not good with kids.." He says to me and I look at him. "Kaiden I don't get what's so hard. She's just a little girl." I wrap my arm around his and hold on. "We are still young though. A child isn't best for us right now. With Titus and Peter calling war on our pack. Is this really best for her right now?" He slides him arm around my waist. I sigh. "I will protect her with my life Kaiden. I don't care if she's human. I don't know what will happen with Peter and Tate but I'm sure we can handle it without getting Kat involved." I look up at him but he's staring at Kat. "We will keep her safe Stella. But I can't promise she will be safe from everything." He looks down at me. "I can handle that." I say and he smiles. "Kat we're going to go do some pack things sweetie. We'll come get you for dinner ok?" She nods and we leave her to herself. We go to our room and I run over and jump on the bed. "Oh how I've missed this bed." I say and I hear Kaiden growl. "Really? You missed that bed more than you missed your mate?" I laugh at him and he smirks then comes over and jumps on top of me. "I want to mark you." He says as he breaths in my sent. I smile. "Then do it." I say. He leans back up on his hands and looks at me. "I thought you wanted it to be special." He says and I smile. "I did. This is special enough." I kiss him and he immediately kisses me back. I feel his hand slide up my shirt as he deepens the kiss. He keeps going as he kisses down my jaw to my neck. He kissed my neck then I feel his teeth sink into my skin. It felt like a small pinch then turns into the most amazing feeling ever. He licks the bite and seals it then kisses the new mark. "Now everyone will know you are mine." He says and I smile as he brings his lips back to mine and we slide into complete bliss.

When we were done I couldn't stop smiling. I couldn't believe we had finally mated. I lay in the bed now with my hand against Kaiden's bare chest, drawing circles with my finger. There was a knock on the door and Kaiden growled. "What?!" I laugh and sit up. "Alpha, Luna, this is very important." I look at Kaiden and he quickly gets out of bed, he slips on sweatpants and I slide on my robe. Kaiden opens the door and Alec walks in. He looks at me and smiles. "Well that's some good news." He says and I blush and look away. "What's wrong Alec?" Kaiden asks him as he slips a shirt over his head. "Right. A Black Sky member was spotted on our territory. They got away before we could catch them." I growl and so does Kaiden. "Did you recognize the scent?" Kaiden asks and Alec shakes his head. "Nobody that's been out here before." He says. I walk over and grab my clothes. "What are we going to do about them?" I ask and turn to Kaiden. "If it comes to it, a battle between packs until an Alpha falls or gives up." He looks away. Alec looks between us then steps out of the room. "Shall I call for a pack meeting? He asks. "Yes Alec, thank you." Kaiden says then walks over and sits on the bed as Alec leaves. I get dressed and go to sit beside him. "We can deal with this Kaiden." I say and he smiles at me with a nod. We both stand and head to the pack meeting room. Before we can go downstairs we hear a door open behind us. "Where are you going?" I turn to see Kat looking at us. "Sweetie we have to speak with the pack." I tell her and she looks down. "Can I meet everybody?" Her question shocks me. I look up at Kaiden and he shrugs. "Sure you can. Come on." I take her hand and her face lights up. She walks with us down to the meeting room where everyone is waiting. "I'm sorry to call you all here on such short notice. I have some things to tell everyone. First off, as many of you may know, Stella and I have adopted a human child." I heard gasps and talking among everyone and I look at Kat who is hiding behind me quietly. "She knows about us and understands. Kat come here please." He looks at her and holds his hand out to her. She takes his hand slowly and walks onto the small stage. "Everyone meet Kat. She is 8 years old, I expect her to be treated as everyone else." He looks around the room for anyone to question him and nobody does. He nods. "Kat go back down there for a moment ok." He leads her back to me then continues. "Next thing is important so everybody listen. Black Sky wolves has been spotted on our territory." There were growls all around and Kat held on to me tighter. I kept her close to me. "The scent is not known yet as of who it could have been but they were on our territory and they got away. I want everyone to be on the lookout for anything strange. Anything out of place must be reported to me, Alec, or Jamie as soon as possible. These wolves are after our Luna, and they won't get her." I look around the room as all eyes turn to me. I see Aria with Jamie and Lacken with Alec. I look at Kaiden again. "Everyone may leave, but I'm putting up a curfew. Nobody out past dark without at least 2 other people with them. And absolutely no children under the age of 14 are to be out alone during any time. Meeting dismissed." I see many pack members begin talking to others, while some come over to meet Kat. I smile as everyone who comes up to her, smiles, and speaks to her. I was glad they accepted her. Many people congratulate me as well, seeing my new mark. I felt an arm around my waist and turn to look up at Kaiden. "How about the 3 of us go out to dinner?" He asks and I smile. "I'd love that. Kat sweetheart do you want to go out to dinner with us?" I ask. "Yeah!" She smiles at us. "And what about me?" I turn and see Amie glaring at Kaiden. "Amie, go hang out with Emily. Stop being jealous." Kaiden says to his sister who growls. "I'm your sister. She's just a little human." I growl at that and Amie glares at me. Kat looks up at me and I see sadness in her eyes. "Cut it out Amie, you are old enough to act right. I won't have you bullying Kat." He growls at his sister. I didn't see why she was being so hatful towards Kat. She should be old enough not to act this way. "Fine! Stupid human." She stormed away. I look down at Kat who has tears in her eyes now. "Kat don't cry it's ok sweetie." I kneel down beside her as I speak and she hugs me. "Why doesn't anyone like me?" She asked. "They just have to get use to you." I look at Kaiden as he speaks. Kat looks up at him as well. "I don't want anyone to hate me." She said quietly. "Not everyone likes everybody. There are a bunch of people that don't like me." He smiles at her. "Really?" She asks and he nods. "Sure, I know a lot of people. Stella's old pack members hate me." He laughs. I smile as Kat looks at me and I nod. She smiles back. "Let's get going." Kaiden says, grabbing his keys.

This is a pretty long chapter and I hope you all like it. I know some of you are gonna be like, "oh Amie deserves to be upset." well I kinda put all this for a reason. Amie is a selfish little girl who wants everyone's attention. She can be a real brat as you just read. Who likes Kat? I would like to know!
