After the war Part 10

At the end of the month the small community of Clover came together and had a big send off for Lucy, Levy and the girls. They even were sad 2 see the two men off as they had matured a lot in the month and had finished rebuilding the cafe to a bigger, flasher, more modern building. The owner even had a unit built on top for any further need for visiting employees to find somewhere to live for the month.

The girls had managed to sneak off by themselves and asked the mayor of Clover could he please marry their parents as they wanted them to be married so their Dads could get off the couch. He laughed and said that he would see what he could do. The mayor sneakily set it up for the girls so it could happen, should he get the right answers during the send-off.

The day of the send-off arrived. The girls rose bright and early and made sure both parents were dressed to the 9s.

"Wow" said Natsu and Gajeel when they spotted Lucy and Levy " You ladies look amazing. "

"Yes Mum, you do" said the girls to their mothers.

When they got to the town hall the mayor greeted each parent and pulled each of them off for a chat. In that chat, he established that yes, each parent wanted to marry the other but didn't know how to broach the subject with the other in fear of rejection. "I will organise everything" said the mayor, who also was a marriage celebrant "don't worry"

At Midday, he called for Lucy, Levy, Natsu and Gajeel to come up the front pretending to make a toast. The 4 went up and he stood them side by side and somehow got them through a complete marriage ceremony without either couple realising what he had done until he said " you are now Man and Wife. You can kiss the bride"

Instantly, everyone cheered them and the loudest were their children. Natsu and Gajeel stood in shock for a minute, smiled the biggest smile and took their partner in their arms and kissed them soundly.

The mayor then said "Okay, you 4 to make it official sign these 2 documents. "

Natsu and Gajeel both raced to sign them, which assured both Lucy and Levy that this was wanted by the guys. Lucy and Levy knew that they wanted this but they had been unsure on whether or not the guys were.

The people of the town then bundled the family and their belongings and gifts onto the train bound for Magnolia. Gajeel and Natsu were instantly sick, followed by half a trip in Nashi and Kore. Lucy and Levy chuckled... "you girls definitely take after your father's. "

Arriving in Magnolia Lucy and Levy had a hard time moving the other 4 off the train in time, but they succeeded. All 4 collapsed on the ground in relief. Kore and Nashi asked "Can we please never do that again?"

To which their fathers answered "Doesn't work that way kiddos - You have to fight through the sickness "

The girls groaned. After a while they all were able to move again.

"Let's go!" Said Natsu all fired up. "You have to see our new home!"

"Ok..." Said Lucy

"Why are so excited Natsu?" Asked Gajeel
"You'll see" said Natsu as he marched proudly to his home, he built for them all. The girls oohed and ahhhed at the various site on the way. Lucy and Levy even pointed out their old units.
They pointed out the guild and said "We will take you girls there first thing in the morning!"

The two girls were pleased with that plan. "Can we join too, Mummy?" Asked Kore.

"Sure sweety, but I would rather you wait 3 more years before deciding, the guild can be overwhelming at times. " answered Levy.

"That's a polite way to put it " laughed Lucy.

As they, got closer to Natsu's place, he got more and more excited.

Finally, they turned the corner and saw the place and froze for there in front of them was a roomier version of the house they just left. It was like the house had been transported from Clover to Magnolia and on the way had grown.

"Natsu" Lucy finally managed to get out. "You built this?"

"Yes" said Natsu proudly. "Let's go inside. " and let them in. They go in.

Instantly the girls squeal "It's exactly like home" and run upstairs "Mum! MUM!" Yelled Nashi "Get up here!" Lucy and Levy go up to see what all the fuss was about. They too were impressed with thoughtful design change upstairs. Lucy started crying.

"What's wrong Lucy?" asked Levy

"This place is exactly how I wanted our old home to be." She said "It's like Natsu knew how I felt about our home and changed it to suit me."

"But how?" Wondered Levy.

Natsu came in and hugged Lucy "It's ok Lucy! I told you that I built this not knowing why. I knew as soon as I saw your home that somehow you had linked your feelings about your home to me. I love you Lucy and that's not going to change!"

"I'm impressed Salamander " said Gajeel "you have a real gift with your wife, now"

"Damn, that's right we are married now! Does this mean that we are off the couch yet?" Asked Natsu

"Yes, you big dummy, it does!" Said Lucy

"YAY " cheered the two girls "Our parents are finally together!"

The couple's kissed and looked at the girls and smiled " Yes, finally!" They answered.
