[I'm sorry in advance, this chapter is really diving headfirst into a emotional pool. Um... Get ready everyone...hope you llike it, it was interesting to write. Also listen to this song after the '° ° °', it really fits it.]

Months had passed. Most of Artemis's days were spend in the confines of the Med-Jack hut or roaming the glade, spending time with Newt. Minho was sarcastic and sassy as ever, Gally teasing and obnoxious, Grey dramatic and playful, Levi sweet and helpful as always. The glade had a neverending cycle, though Artemis didn't mind. She was with her friends-her family, and as long as she was with them, she would be happy.

Time continued to pass, though something changed. Newt grew quieter, more closed off, wearier. His cheerful demeanor seemed to fade, showing a tired, sad, broken boy.

The sunlight shone around the glade, such a bright thing for what would become a dark, tearful day. The morning routine was disrupted when the British boy was nowhere to be found. The Maze doors had opened already and many claimed he myst have left early for his route. A ominous feeling creeped onto Artemis as the day wore on, a worried and unsettled expression settling on her features. She fidgeted, constantly glancing around, checking the doors surrounding their home. Evening was soon, the sky darkening. The gladers finished up their jobs and Runners started trekking in. The girl paced, something was wrong, she knew it. A figure stopped one of the last glader making its way to the Homestead. The glader started off to the building, faster and more urgent than before. He stopped in front of Alby, whispering in the leaders ear before making their way to the anxious girl.

"Um... Minho needs you, he says it's a emergency. He's by the North doors." The glader, Hayden, whispered hurriedly.

Minho stood, breathing heavily, by a bloodied and bruised figure leaning against. the walls. Their leg bent out at a unnatural angle, cuts and bruises covering the limb.

"No..." The Med-Jack breathed out.

"Is that...?" Alby asked.

Minho nodded.

"He was hanging by a vine, like he got caught up in it. But it looked like..."

He sighed, a despaired look on his face.

"It looked like he jumped."

A small cry fell from the girls lips.

"Alby, go get the other Med-Jacks now. We need something to lift him with." She gathered her composure, deciding the best thing to do was heal the broken boy as soon as possible. Physical wounds were her specialty, the harder part would be the mental scars.

Sucking in a deep breath, the girl began the job, what would be a long night for her.

Newt lay on a cot, he looked dead, pale, and broken. His leg was wrapped with a stint, his wounds and cuts covered and healing. His chest moved with light breaths, his face contorted with pain. The Med-Jacks had left, there was little to do until he woke up. Alby had been moved out of the room, to give space to the doctors. Artemis sat in a chair beside the bed, staring at the wall. The room was dark, silence, and depressing. After a lasting look at the boy, her best friend, she made her way to her bedroom.

The door closed with a small thud. Her room was dark, the only light being the moon flittering in the small window. Her back slid against the door as she sat against the creaking wood. A shaky sigh fell from her lips as she ran her fingers through her hair. She looked disheveled, sad and hopeless. Sobs shook her body, tears ran down her face, soaking her shirt and leaving marks on her cheeks. The sound of muffled crying filled the room, early in to the morning. She slept none, her head to filled with questions and regrets to sleep.

But, sitting alone, tear steaks upon her face, hair messy, face blotchy, eyes tired, filled with utter hopelessness and confusion, she had never felt more broken.

@uthors note,

yeah... The chapter before this was a filler chapter and introducing new characters. But this chapter, well, it was a turmoil. Love you guys and I hope you enjoyed.

P.s, the reason she is so upset he jumped is she thinks she wasn't good enough and she really truly cares about him, so she is upset and worried.
