Four pairs of eyes stared at the thriller on the TV. No one moved a muscle, captivated by the intensity of the moment. Well, all but a certain brunette's leg bouncing in front of her. She couldn't help it, though. Four hours of sitting around watching movies combined with who knows how many water bottles can make a girl a little antsy. Her knee moved rapidly as the teenage girl tried to hold herself together until this scene was over, no matter how excruciatingly difficult it may be.

"Oh my GOOOOOOOOOOOD JUST GO PEE ALREADY," Jaxon finally-- and dramatically-- exclaimed, making three girls next to him jump right as the movie's climax reached.  "You've been bouncing your leg for HOURS, just GO ALREADY!"

Noelle stared at him with wide eyes before giggling a bit and getting up. "Fine, fine, I'm going."

"Want me to pause the movie for you?" he asked as she began walking to her bathroom.

"Nah I'm okay!" she responded while closing the door.

"Okay good 'cause I wasn't gonna anyways!"

She only laughed.

Noelle left rather quickly, closing the door with a soft click. Before she could head back to the living room, however, there was a loud creaking sound above her head. She looked up as it sounded again, reminding her of footsteps as it continued to pass her towards the end of the hallway. Noelle looked towards her attic door, about to turn away and continue back when there was a loud slam. She whipped back around to find the attic door open, the fold-up latter extended down, begging her to climb up to find whatever was up there. She stood, staring at the entrance before deciding what to do.

"Not only no, but hell no." She turned back around and began her walk back before jumping at yet another item slamming from the bottom of the latter. She didn't even stop to look back as she made her way to the living room, the whole while shaking her head "no" vigorously. The young teen plopped back into her seat beside her brother and crossed her arms in front of her. "Absolutely not."

Jaxon looked at her with a brow raised. "What was all that? Did you fall in or something?"

All heads turned to Noelle as she told them what happened moments prior. Blaire and Jaxon looked at each other as if making a silent agreement before standing up. "We'll go make sure someone didn't break in," Jaxon stated, heading to his room to grab a couple weapons for himself and Blaire.

"Or- Or-- and hear me out here-- we could, you know, NOT do that?" Noelle stated, hoping they'd understand how ridiculous they sounded.

Jaxon walked back in with a couple katanas from an anime convention they went to a few months back. He handed one to Blaire before looking at his sister with eyes full of reluctant seriousness. "Well, you see, the thing about that is I'd rather us NOT get snuck up on by some blood-thirsty psychopath while we're sleeping."

Noelle only closed her mouth as they turned and walked down the hallway, looking over to Alexianna who was already looking at her with the same incredulous look. They both turned back to the hallway a few moments later at the sound of approaching footsteps, subconsciously scooting closer to each other. They both visibly relaxed when they saw it was only Blaire.

"Where's Jaxon" Noelle asked, eyes drifting to the piece of wood in her friend's hands.

"He's looking around the attic to see if anyone's up there. But this was the noise that scared you. It was by the bottom of the latter."

Noelle grabbed the board as it was handed to her and turned it over, only finding bold black letters and numbers in the middle of the front. On the top the word "Hello" was written out, with "Yes" in the upper left corner and "No" on the upper right. Directly under the letters and numbers was only one word: "Goodbye." Noelle only stared at it in confusion before flipping it over to the back, which was still blank.

"Well," Jaxon started as he walked back into the room, "there was no one up there. But I did find this next to the entrance." As he spoke he held up a weird little piece of plastic with a clear hole through the middle of it.

A delighted gasp sounded from Alex, causing all three heads to turn to her as she stood and took the piece from Jaxon. "No way! Noelle, that's a Ouija board!"

The mentioned teen's eyes widened. She had never seen one before but she'd heard a story from her mom. "Dude we have to get that out of here, my mom would freak!"

"What? Why?" the pastel goth asked, placing it on the footrest in front of the couch.

"She hates those things! She said she used one once and it ended really badly."

"Oh, isn't that the story she always freaks out about before she can finish," Jaxon asked, earning a nod from the girl in question. "Yeah, nah, we should throw it out."

"Oh come on, why not play just once? It'll be fun," Alex enticed, already settled in front of the board holding the plastic piece in her hands which were folded in her lap.

"Dude do you even realize how bad that idea is? You sound like the chick who dies first in every horror movie ever," Jaxon said in disbelief as Blaire settled down next to her girlfriend.

"Says the one who actually went check out the creepy noise in the attic. I mean seriously, even your sister was smart enough to just walk away," she retaliated, causing the young man to shut his mouth and look down in defeat. "Besides, I practice Wicca! I've studied this a thousand times over, as long as you don't play alone you'll be fine."

A sudden wave of cold washed over Noelle and she blinked, only to find herself sitting next to Alexianna and across from Blaire.  She let out a soft, confused "huh?" as she looked up at her brother who was shaking his head in disbelief. She wanted to ask when she had ever agreed, but found her lips sealed shut.

"I cannot believe you would agree to this," he sighed, running a hand over his face before going sit beside her in defeat. "Well, no way I'm letting you be this big of an idiot without me. How do we play?"

Alexianna smiled from ear to ear as she looked around, gleaming with excitement. "Okay, here are the rules."
