"Dahyun, you can open your eyes now."
They had not landed on the concrete. It was instead something soft and springy. Her right hand reached over and patted whatever saved her. She opened her eyes and saw the jagged hole they left in the side of the building. She sat up and saw that they had landed on the awning overlooking the entrance.
"Come," said Y/N. "We need to move."
He adeptly slid off the awning and landed on his feet. Dahyun sat there looking down at the incredible height she had to cross.
"Hurry." Y/N stretched out his hands. "I'll catch you."
Dahyun was hesitant at first, but when a guard peering out from the hole in the building fired a bullet into the space next to her, she didn't think twice before leaping down into Y/N's arms. Another bullet whizzed past her head as they turned to run. He dragged Dahyun with him as he sprinted across the square toward a gray Audi, Dahyun stumbling behind him in her heels.
"An Audi? Is there anything more inconspicuous we could use?"
"Take it or leave it." He stuck his hand underneath the front bumper. "They're going to be onto us in a couple of seconds so we can take our chances here or elsewhere."
"What about the metro?" suggested Dahyun.
"They can track the subway line and box us in. Right now, we need to get them off our scent, so help me find the backup key."
She disappeared around the side of the car and also began searching the opposite side. Y/N tuned back into his surroundings; their exposure had caused a large commotion at the corporation, security guards streaming forth from the entrance. Y/N turned back and began searching the rear bumper, but to no avail, even checking behind the license plate.
"Dahyun, I can't find the key. We're going to have to make a break for--."
Dahyun dangled the key out in front of him. To her side, the gas filler cap pried open. "Found it."
She hit the "unlock" button before tossing it to him and scampering around to the other side to the passenger seat. Y/N slid across the roof of the car and popped into the driver's seat.
They sat in silence as they both caught their breath. Y/N took a deep breath before turning to Dahyun. "As soon as I start this car, they're going to be on to us." He put his hand on the gear stick. "You ready?"
She smiled nervously. "As I'll ever be."
He hit the engine start button and the engine roared to life. Almost immediately, the rear windshield exploded, shards of glass raining down against the back of their seats.
"Go, go, go!" yelled Dahyun as Y/N slammed on the gas pedal. The tires screeched as they struggled to propel the car forward. Rubber tires screeched loudly behind them as Y/N flew down the road, black SUVs close in pursuit.
Gas! Gas! Right!
Y/N banked right and the car spun, wheels trailing smoke, around the corner.
Left! Swerve! Drift! Brake!
Y/N quickly glanced at the passenger seat. Dahyun was clutching the overhead grab handle, teeth clenched together in fear.
6th and 23rd!
Y/N yanked the wheel to the right as Dahyun let out a loud yelp. The tires screeched in agony, as he swerved back into the lanes. He gunned the gas pedal as the pursuing vehicles wheeled after them. He glanced at the speedometer.
60 mph... 120 mph... 160 mph... 210 mph...
Honking cars zoomed by as Dahyun let out a wail of despair. The car rapidly sped up. A bullet knocked the right side-view mirror loose, dangling against the side of the car.
