It's close to Taylor's birthday. It's almost the end of September and she has no idea what to do on her birthday. She could possibly throw a birthday party, but not at her house. But who would come. Her mother wouldn't even show up.
She has no friends, she sticks to herself, and everyone at her middle school hates her. So she guesses no party. Maybe she'll just spend it alone, again.
She then notices it's quiet, her mother must be at the bar. The two places she goes to almost everyday is the house (not for too long), or the bar.
Just then, Taylor's little eight year old brother walks in. He's covered in blood and cuts on his skin while he's holding a knife.
Taylor's eyes widen and she rushes to her brother quickly. She throws the knife somewhere in her room as she carries Tommy to the bathroom, setting him on the sink counter.
She grabs a wrap and runs it under warm water. While Tommy is crying, she wipes off the blood on him. She then notices that he made them on himself.
Taylor's eyes widen as she yells why did you do this.
Tommy keeps crying as he spits out "I did it cause I saw you doing it, and I want to be like you!"
A gasp escapes from her lips.
"Please Tommy promise me that you'll never do this again?" Taylor falls down on her knees and starts to cry.
Warm, salty, wet tears are still slowly running down his face as he says "I promise..."
