I woke up bright and early to another dull day. I was so tired of this country I couldn’t wait to leave! I looked at my phone "woah!!" I exclaimed 10 missed calls from my mum it was like I couldn’t go to sleep without calling her. I quickly texted her saying I was okay blah blah blah... I went down stairs and grabbed a bowl of cereal and headed off for school. We only had 3 weeks till the end of year 13 thank god I was so glad school was finally over. I saw my bestie Madison and ran up to give her a hug we had our usual hey how are you stuff and a moan about school then she reminded me of the fact that in a month we would be travelling around the world together!! Hopefully we would meet some hot boys!!

First period was boring and so was second but in third period there was a new student in my trig class his name was Joe Samuel all the girls had been talking about how gorgues he was and nearly every girl was dying to be asked out by him. I could see what they ment he was pretty fit! luck was with me today as my friend rebekah was away and there was only one spare seat which was next to me he walked down and sat next to me I smiled and introduced myself he in return said his name and that he was glad to meet me turns out I had the rest of the days lessons with him and I must admit he was a pretty nice guy.

"ASHLEY, ASHLEY, ASHLEY” Madison screamed as I entered the lunch hall "what!!" I replied wondering what she was all excited about I mean what ever happened around here to get people so excited?? Madison distracted my thought process “ASHLEY!" she said clicking her fingers impatiently in front of my face to regain my attention "oh sorry I got distracted what is it your all hyped up abut anyway?" I reply trying to look curious "you won!" she exclaimed, " what" I asked well and truly confused now and wondering what the hell she was going on about. “You won a competition to be on a tv show you get to travel all around the world and loads of free stuff you also get to see heaps of celebs!!"  She said this like it was the most obvious thing in the world "but I didn’t even enter and competition!!" I said a bit irritated now, " I know you didn’t enter I did I entered your name cause you want to go travelling and what an awesome opportunity you should be very happy" she replied clearly proud of herself for putting my name in. "but I thought we were going to go travelling around the world together when we leave school and then we were both going to go to uni!" "MADZ???" she had gone all quite which is quite strange for her! 

"Well what is it?" "I kinda can’t go travelling with you as I have to save more money for uni I’m so so sorry ash but don’t you see you can still go because u won a competition and u can go for free I bet it will be even better then it would be if we went together" my face fell as I slowly realised what she was saying she wasn’t going to travel around the world at the end of the year and it was total rubbish that she didn’t have enough money as we had been saving for 4 years!! She was leaving me to go by myself but we had been planning this since we where 12!  And she decided to change her mind 3 weeks before we go. "I have to go" I stutted out as I felt my eyes fill with tears I quickly fled from the cafeteria to the bathrooms.

 when I got home I ran up to my room and grabbed a box from underneath my bed in it was all the plans me and madz had made for are trip a map of all the places we would go and what order we would go to them, all the sights we would see, all the things we would do and all the plans we ever made. They all ment nothing now, nothing at all! Tears spilled over my eyes and silently slide down my cheek. I began to cry it was dumb I know but I just couldn’t quite believe that I wasn’t going to finally leave this town. then I heard I knock on my door so I quickly wiped away the tears and glanced in the mirror to make sure I looked okay I was all good so I shouted "come in!" and my dad walked in and said "you got a letter today ash from some tv show" I turned it round only to find the envelope already open " you opened it" I accused him but I couldn’t build up quite enough energy to care "oh come on just open it!!" "CONGARTLATIONS!" he said before I had even read the first line " you never told me you entered a competition to travel around the world but look you get to go travelling to all the places you and madz were going to go and you get to go with 3 other girls!" he was clearly happy enough for both of us " yea that sounds great dad" as said with barely any enthusiasm.
