CHAPTER - 13 : HER BIRTHDAY, DID NOT GO AS PLANNED!

XAVIER'S P.O.V.

Now tomorrow is Andrianna's birthday. I have asked Samantha to buy a butterfly locket from the market. I don't know why I thought specifically of a butterfly. There are many factors to it. Maybe it's because of her job revolving around all these colors. Maybe it's because of her cheerful nature. Or maybe I want her life to be full of colors, full of happiness.

I am waiting outside Anna's house while she is washing the dishes since I prepared dinner. Finally, I see our car coming and stop in front of me. She rolls down the window and hands me a box with a cute purple ribbon bow.

"Thanks, buddy. " I say taking the box. I tilt my head to look at Brian on the driving seat and salute him.

"Anytime, dude. " Samantha says deepening her voice a little which makes me chuckle and Brian to laugh out loud.

After seeing them off I walk back into the house and keep the box on my nightstand.

"XAVIER IT'S HARRY POTTER TIME!!" Aaaand that's my cue.

ANDRIANNA'S P.O.V.

"Happy Birthday Sweety!" I hear my parents scream on the phone as soon as I picked up mom's call.

"Thanks, mom dad. " I say smiling a little.

"So have you thought about what you'll do today?" Mom chirps.

"No not yet, but just spent the day with my friends from work and Xavier." I shrug.

"Speaking of him, how are you two getting along?" Dad asks.

"Oh, we get along well. I even offered him my guest room until the renovation continues."

"That's good honey. Now we should really get some sleep. Good night."

"Good night. " I say before ending the call.

I scroll through a few birthday wishes from my colleagues and send a short thanks to them.

I see the very first message is Miranda.

M: HAPPIEST BIRTHDAY ANNA!!!!! WE ARE GOING TO HAVE TOO MUCH FUN TODAY.

PS: I called you first but it was busy. So I quickly texted coz I was really sleepy. I am asleep now as you read the message. ;D

A: Thanks and surely we'll have fun.

I lock my phone and keep it on the nightstand but just as I am about to close my eyes, I hear a knock.

I guess Xavier remembers my birthday.

I open the door to find Xavier with his guitar. As soon as he sees me he starts playing the 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' tune on the guitar.

He doesn't say anything but continues to play the whole song while staring into my eyes. As I see him playing, I don't know why, but my eyes start tearing up. I quickly turn a little and wipe the small tear and faced him again.

"Happy Birthday Anna." He whispers as the song ends.

Before I could process what I am doing, I close the distance between us and hug him. I feel him stiffen a bit but then he puts his guitar down and returns the embrace.
