Double Trouble

Chapter 14

Riley's POV

"I'll be back after my appointment" I told Dad and Peter. Today was the day I was gonna get the gender for Peter for the gender reveal he insisted on having. I had just gotten my license the previous week.

"Be careful" Dad told me.

"I always am" I said sarcastically coping his infamous line he always told me.

He chuckled and rolled his eyes. "Go before you're late" he said pushing me out the door of the Starks mansion in upstate New York.

I hopped into my baby pink sports car Tony got me for my seventeenth birthday last week. God Tony spoiled me like I was his own.

I drove into the city and arrived at my doctors office. Today's date was June 24th I'm now nine weeks.

I took a blood test at my last appointment so we could find out earlier. I signed in a sat down in the far corner of the waiting room.

I looked around the waiting room I was the only one here alone. It was me and a bunch of middle aged women with their spouses.

I rested my hand instinctively on my small bump. I scrolled through my Instagram scrolling past many many posts of the knew unknown avenger.

I had only been on one mission but that was enough for the media to find out. Of course three kids showing up at a school in southern New York and disappearing a week later and then an important HYDRA base being destroyed in the same town right after the kids disappear it's a little suspicious and grew the theory of a new avenger.

"Riley Rogers?" A nurse called. I stood up and followed her through the door and to a room.

"Okay just to begin we realize you have recently started going to a therapist?" She asked.

I nodded in reply. I started going because the more time dragged on after the incident the more nightmares I had about it and Dad thought I was slipping back into my depression.

"She put you on anti depressants correct?"

"Yeah, she said they were safe to take with pregnancy"

"Alright that's all I needed to know" she said "Today, we'll do another ultrasound, and take some blood again, and the doctor will give you the results from your early gender reveal"

"Alright" I said. "Thank you"

She nodded and left the room. I fiddled with the hem of my shirt while I waited for the doctor.

She arrived about ten minutes after the nurse left. "Hello Riley" she said with a smile small. "How've you been?"

"Good" I said.

"We have the results from your blood test" she said.

"Can you actually write it on a piece of paper or something?" I asked "I have a few friends throwing me a gender reveal"

"Of course" she said. "Let's get the ultrasound done first"

After my appointment she gave me the envelope with the gender inside and I headed home.

When I got home Peter was in the living room playing Mario Kart against Bucky and Sam.

I watched as Sam beat the other two boys. "Damnit!" Bucky yelled.

"Language Barnes" I said sitting down next to Peter.

"Did you get it?" Peter asked excitedly.

"You sound like you're talking about a drug deal" Sam said.

"What about a drug deal?" Dad asked walking into the the room.
