A real Cardcaptor?!

Chapter 1 - WHAT THE HELL?!

I heard my front doorbell ring from the couch so I paused the YouTube video I was watching and got up to open the door, to see a package or box (like this—> 📦) on the doormat. "Huh that came quicker than I though it would be..." I hummed as I picked up the box while making sure it had my name on the sticker and it indeed did, so I took it inside and set it on my bedroom floor.

Once I opened the box I picked up the book and examined it. "Huh? This isn't what the picture showed! It looks different... a different magic circle, and instead of 'Cyberus' being on the front, it looked like a handsome Korean blond haired 20 year old." 'How odd.. maybe I got scammed? The book does feel real though and it has real metal too' I thought. I opened the book curiously and as soon as I did, the pages flipped quickly and as they did I saw beautiful women and men spirits flying around. They stopped and floated in a circle around me, then the book flashed a metallic gold and a beautiful, tall blond haired Korean man stood there and looked down at me. I backed up a couple slides and looked at the 20 year old looking man. "I—you—what is going on here?!" I say in shock. "The guy comes up to me and kneels down to face me. "And what is your name?" He asked while tilting his face but still giving a blank expression with his gold eyes and blond hair. "Uh—I—well I'm Lily, but what the heck is going on here?! Who are you?" I spoke. He sighs and lifts me back onto my feet. "My name is Taeyoon. Now please listen so I can explain what is going on, without the freaking out.." he calmly stated with his gaze locked onto me.

I felt nervous under his stare then complied and I lead him into the lounge room and took a seat with stiff body language as he sat across from me. "Right.. this will be a bit to take in but please try to understand." He goes on explaining I am chosen to be a crystal catcher who collects spirit like creatures with many different powers and become their master by sealing them into my grasp by turning them into a crystallised card with their name and spirit form displayed on the surface of the card. I must collect them all to prevent a demon in the underworld from reviving and rising to seek reign on the world. Also finding trouble on the way is a guarantee but I will have what it takes to overcome them. "I will be by your side always, so please do not worry." He says still keeping his gaze on me through that entire explanation. "Okay wait. So this is some cardcaptor Sakura shit?" I say throwing my hands in the air. "What is cardcaptor Sakura?" He asks tilting his head to the side. I sigh. "Nevermind.. but can I ask what these spirit like people are that have been here the entire time?" I say with no amusement what so ever as I point at the women and men floating around me. "Oh. Those three are three cards who don't go into violence because they hate it and immediately submit to their new owners, who in this case is you."

I look at him with my head spinning. 'Oh god, okay then..' I think. I turn to the spirits behind me and say; "I look forward to being good friends with you all!" I smile and they return it and one speaks to me. "You have a beautiful heart towards others master. We know you will treat us well and we will take our lives to protect you at all costs." I look at her and frantically wave my arms. "Oh! No I really appreciate your kindness to me but please don't get to the point where you would risk your life to save mine!" She smiles at me and pecks me on the cheek and a magic circle dissapears as soon as it appears. "Thank you darling master. If you don't mind, please hold your necklace and call out; 'Key that hides it's crystal form, as your master I command you; release!' I look down and see a crystal long looking rectangular pendant on my neck. 'Huh? When did that get there?' I think. I hold it in my hand and speak; "Key that hides it's crystal form, as your master I command you; Release!" The pendant glows and forms a crystal blue staff with shards floating around it and beautiful carvings enhanced into it. "Wow.." I say and gaze at the staff in admiration. Taeyoon's lips move up slightly then drops back to his normal blank expression and spoke; "to seal the spirits into crystal spirit cards you have to recite these words and point the staff to the three of them; "Return to the form you were meant to be, crystal spirit." I nervously say "okay" and point the staff at the spirits before repeating the words taeyoon spoke. The spirits shattered into pieces of crystal before reforming instantly into a crystal, transparent card. I look at them in awe. There was a beautiful profile of each of the spirits and their names underneath it. "Mirror, wind and wood, huh?" I smile. I was slightly taken aback as the seemingly pictures of the spirits started moving and looked back at me with a smile. "You guys can move?" I ask surprised. "Yes we can also speak and indeed move as we please within this frame." Mirror says. "Wow that's incredible!" I never saw that happening in cardcaptor Sakura... the only similarity's is there being a sun and moon character, the spirits kind of turn into the card shape and I have a staff, but otherwise this seems completely different to me. "Here." I turn to look at Taeyoon and he held out a silver ring with a turquoise stone on it. I look at him with confusion. "This is a summoning ring. You put it onto your ring finger on your right hand and you can call out the cards names and they will summon out of the ring to do as you ask of them. Your staff is used to capture the spirits and can generate a shield as well so it will keep you safe. I also have a ring on the same hand and finger to be able to teleport to you when I need to or teleport you to me." I was taken aback. "Wow.." I say and carefully put the ring on. Wait wouldn't this make us look like a couple though?! The heck? Ughhhh oh well.

"I think you should go to bed. It's late and you will need to process this. I will explain some more sometime tomorrow. Goodnight." Taeyoon states as he gets up. "Wait-where are you sleeping then?" I ask felling sympathy for him if he decides to sleep on either the leather couch or floor. "I am not sure but I can find something. What would you prefer me to do?" I look at him with a 'duh' face. Well, sleep on the bed. It's a king sized bed so it shouldn't really matter. As long as you don't mind?" I say. "I see. Thank you then." He responds as I lead the way to the bedroom.

"Goodnight." I say as I get comfortable. "Goodnight Lily."
