Suga- the base leader who could freeze you into an absolute rock solid state with just his intimidating eyes- had a fucking soft spot for kids.

Thank god Lisa and Jennie were with you or he would have probably shot you and Jungkook in the head an hour ago for being annoying shits.

"I don't know how he's keeping his damn patience with you two," Taehyung said with narrow eyes. The blonde leader had moved you all to a different room with a cot in it, Taehyung sitting cross legged upon it, the girls sleeping with their heads on his lap.

"I think it's funny that he likes kids so much. He probably hasn't seen one in years." You chuckled, sadness slightly evident in your voice. It was fairly obvious that none of the people down in the tunnels had been to the surface in forever, meaning there was a lot they were missing out on.

You, Jungkook and Taehyung had talked to the leader for a couple hours earlier. You'd learned that the access point under your basement wasn't even on the extensive map Suga had, a map he hadn't shown you all. But you were civilians, and he knew, and thankfully understood, that you weren't down here on purpose. No one would be unless they just wanted to stupidly get arrested for the biggest crime of society.

"He gave them food!" Jungkook exclaimed bitterly, gesturing a hand to the sleeping sisters. "Who does he think we are? Invisible humans that don't need to eat?"

Suga, had in fact, given Lisa and Jennie 'tunnel-famous sandwiches', the two extremely tired and hungry after hours of treading in the tunnels. He said none of you had deserved it, saying specifically 'you ruined their lives, I don't care if you rot of starvation.'

It had just made you even more amused.

And seeing Heechul's reaction to him helping you all was a priceless bonus.

"Shut up about the food," you smiled and sat on the stone floor of the room, grabbing Jungkook's arm so he followed. "Listen." You said, catching both the boys' attention. "So he said all the access points are guarded by government forces right? And they only know the codes for a small few of them. Our options are really limited."

"There was one that he said had a safe enough passage that we could use if we are quick enough." Taehyung perched. "The government base is on the other side, so if we can get to the safe path unseen, we can get out."

"Being quick is fine, but getting there will be difficult." Jungkook murmured. "Suga said those stampedes are to scare rebel groups like this one off. If we get caught in the sight of one, we are done for."

"Your odds are unsurprisingly not in your favor."

You all turned to look at the leader standing in the doorway, light shadowing over his figure from behind. He had packaged boxes in his hands and threw them at all of you. They were small packs of crackers.

"Crackers? They get sandwiches and we get fucking crackers?" Jungkook was quick to complain.

"I don't give a fuck, kid. Be happy I haven't shot you dead yet." The cold voice barked and Jungkook glared at him before stuffing the crackers into his mouth.

"Uh, thanks..." Taehyung smiled, also quickly eating.

"You guys have better odds than us, so why haven't you tried leaving?" You didn't open the box in your hands as Suga stepped forward and out of his darky spot. He was staring down at you, and you gave him a curious gaze. "You have weapons. Couldn't you overrun them?"

His expression remained unchanging, just his eyes narrowing ever so slightly. "Our weapons and supplies are all from them and they all have trackers. We are far from the tracking reach here, but if we get close to a base, it's game over. We don't have more manpower than the 'gov."
