Jungkook forced himself into a state of numbness. He forced himself to bury all his pain for just enough time so that he could get Lisa and Jennie somewhere safe and far away from that door.

After that, he'd let himself fall apart.

Lisa wouldn't stop crying, both Kim siblings having known her almost her whole life, and Jungkook's control was being chipped away at her denial. She was gripping his hand tightly, walking on her own up the steps as Jungkook held Jennie in his arms.

He knew the door they were reaching at the top. He'd seen it countless times whenever he'd eaten at his favorite restaurant with you. It gave him a sense of relief because he knew that the place would be closed at that late of an hour, but someone would hopefully still be cleaning it up. His phone was almost dead, but when he was almost at the door, he felt the vibrations explode on the device from regaining signal. Gulping, he ignored them for the time being and finally opened the door leading back to the real world.

The sound of the door groaning open was eerily alone and Jungkook nudged Lisa inside the small hallway that lead to the main seating area of the place. The warm splatter of the kitchen lights spilled into seating area and he heard a heavy clatter of objects and a gasp.

"Who's there?" A voice shakily let out and Jungkook almost fell in grateful disbelief.

He stumbled forward out of the hallway, breathing shakily. "Jisoo, it's me. Help, please."

The restaurant owner's daughter appeared around the corner her balled up apron falling to the floor in shock. "What the hell? Jeon Jungkook? Is that really you? What are you doing here?"

Lisa grabbed his leg, nervously hiding behind him and Jungkook cursed at the pain filling his back again. "L-Look, I don't have time to explain it right this second. Is anyone else here?" The girl from his high school class shook her head and he nodded. "Okay, take the girls for a moment, first aid kit for the unconscious one, and food and water. I'll pay you for it later-"

She shook her head to fall out of her shock. "Uh- yeah, of course, don't worry about- what's- right. Later. Uh-" she gently approached him and took Lisa's hand, her teary eyes widening and Jungkook assured her Jisoo was safe. Lisa reluctantly took her hand and Jungkook handed Jennie to her. The girl was beginning to wake, and Jungkook hoped her pain wasn't too bad.

"Thank you," Jungkook said in full gratefulness. "I'll explain, I promise."

Could he keep that?

"Okay." Her voice called out, and he knew she had a million questions on the tip of her tongue.

He collapsed into the nearest booth and shakily pulled out his phone.

There were close to a hundred combined messages from both Hoseok and Jimin, missed calls from both, and just as he was about to call his older brother back, his phone flashed the name at him like a final attempt to reach him. He quickly answered the call, and held it up to his ear.

The moment he heard Hoseok's frantic voice, the cry filled up his throat again and spilled from his lips.

"Jungkook? Where have you fucking been? And you haven't answered me all day- do you have any idea how worried I was? I went to Y/N's house and saw your car but no one answered the door, Jimin had no clue either-" Hoseok stopped himself. "Wait, are you crying? Jungkook? Where are you? What the hell happened? Who the fuck hurt you?"

"P-Please just come t-to the restaurant, the one- the one by the station." He cried, the dam he'd put up against his emotions falling apart.

"I'm already on my way, are you with anyone? Where's Y/N?"
