There was lots of screaming, shouting, gunshots, and groans of pain. It all seemed to blend together in your ears as your hearing became more resistant to the blaring alarm.
No one could see anything, and you thought that was a pretty stupid defensive mood on the government's part. Why have a safety measure that handicapped them too?
"Tae!" You tried again. "Kook!"
There weren't any responses. Cursing, you held the gun in your hand tighter, shaking out your wrist and unlocking the safety. Your shoulder was on fire, burning through the numbness now and it made your right side feel as weak as paper.
The silhouette of an officer came in view again and you yelped. His outstretched hand was holding his gun and he suddenly fired at you. You jumped out of the way and narrowly missed it, also causing your right shoulder to ram first into the ground, your scream lashing out into the air.
You shakily held out your own gun and held it as steadily as possible through the pain in your body, pressing the trigger and hearing the shot join the many others being fired around.
The officer hissed and gripped his leg. You scrambled to your feet and took the few moments to take cover in the fog once again.
Something grazed your foot and you nearly jumped out of your skin, gazing down, your eyes shot wide to see a familiar hand.
"Taehyung!" You cried out, falling to the ground and desperately grabbing him close. He was thankfully breathing, but there was a limp in his step, cheek bruised from an impact. His lip was busted and he was just conscious enough.
"J-Jennie-" he gasped out, gripping his chest in pain and you stifled a sharp intake of air realizing she wasn't there.
"Don't talk," you shushed, getting him to stand, draping his arm over your shoulder. He was stumbling in pain and you felt fear grow in your chest knowing Jennie wasn't with him. You had no idea what had happened to Jungkook and Lisa either- which wasn't settling.
A gunshot rang past your ear and you held onto Taehyung tightly while shooting back with your own gun, a shout coming from within the white cloud.
The further you walked, the clearer the air became and you couldn't help but relax, pulling Taehyung along incredibly slow.
"T-Tae, help me a little," you grunted, mainly to yourself to keep your legs moving. But, your elder brother heard you and used much of his remaining strength to pick up his own feet for a little bit, taking away some of his weight and you got a chance to catch your strained breath.
When another official came into view, you desperately kicked at him, trying to keep him further than an arms distance away and Taehyung supported you with the tunnel wall. The man's knife went swooshing through the air and you felt it slit your thigh. Gasping as the cool air seared the fresh cut, you almost fell over as Taehyung threw something in the direction of the officer and a sudden explosion hit, a new dark gas filling the white surroundings.
You coughed violently and covered yours and Taehyung's mouth, eyes watering from the bomb's explosion.
You could see the hallway now, the tunnel walls visible, and you almost cheered.
Falling away from the fog behind you, you stopped to take a small break, wanting to rip your searing shoulder off your body and stich your leg shut. You didn't know how deep the cut was but it hurt like hell.
"Fuck," you groaned, clenching your eyes shut and forcing yourself to move forward again.
And then- just moments later, just when you could finally make out the door screaming at you at the end of the tunnel- you went flying to the ground.
