Pure Business [Jenlisa]

Chapter 3

i was crying alone in front of my own house because mom and dad left to go abroad with Jiyong oppa. I am left alone with Mino oppa and my nanny who is in the convenient store to buy food. I am 6 years old and they left me. I miss my mom and my dad but they are not here so I silently cried burying my face on my arms with the support of my knees.

"Hi, why are you crying here?" A little voice asked but I didn't look instead I stopped myself from crying more. "You must felt lonely here. It's cold outside, why are you here?" He asked and i felt that he put something on me. I look up at my shoulder and found a hoodie being placed on my back, covering me from the coldness.

"Thank you." i manage to say and look up at the person who has a wide smile that can reach his ears.

"Hi cutie." He complimented as I instantly blush. "May i sit down with you?" i swear he's talkative but i like it. I nodded and i move to my side for him to have a space to sit down.

"What's your name?" He asked me. I faced him who's looking at me as well.

"Jennie." I shyly said and adjust the hoodie to cover my body more.

"What a pretty name for a pretty girl like you." He stated calmly, he didn't know that it affects me. I blush.

"How come I didn't see you here every time i go around here?" He asked with confusion on his face. I giggled.

"Because I don't usually go outside when I'm not with my brother." I replied and he smiled at me.

"You have a big brother?" i nodded. "That's cool. I wish i could meet him." He said as he look at the sky then back at me. "Is your parents there?" He stood up and go to the side of the house where the window is slightly open. "I can't see someone inside so i guess they are not yet here." He said as he keeps on looking back at the window then to me "Was that the reason why you're crying and alone?" He walk back to me "Because your parents are nowhere and your brother is not with you too?" He asked again, i find him cute at how his curiosity is taking over him.

"They are abroad doing business. My brother went to the store with my nanny." I said and he sat right next to me getting something in his pocket.

"Here...." He said as he open the candy, "It's a caramel, you should eat it to feel happy again." He stated and unwrapped the candy then put it in my mouth. I took it and chew.

"This is delicious!" I said, surprised that a candy can be this delicious. "See, it can make you happy." He stated with a smile and pats my head.

After a while, my brother and nanny finally came. "Oh my god, how long have you been outside? It's cold jen, you should call someone or uncle Marco!" My brother worriedly said as he keeps on checking me and hugging me.

"It's okay, the boy took good care of me." I said and point it to the boy, i still don't know his name. My brother look at the boy "Thank you. Uh- what is your name young boy?" My brother asked him.

It's-" Before he even say his name, a guy shouted causing the boy to stiffened on his place. "Yah! Pran, what the! what are you doing outside?" He shouted asked.

"I just helped nini because she have no one to accompany her with!" The boy replied, oh so his name is pran. Cute.

"Let's go, dad is calling for you!" The guy shouted and left. Pran looked at me first with disappointment and worry.

"I'm sorry nini, my father needs me. But if ever you need someone, don't hesitate to call me okay?" He went close to me and pointed a house a few blocks away from our house "That's my house. Let's be friends okay and don't cry anymore, okay?" He make sure that I understand it then he left, running. Mino oppa looked at me from the door

"Come on jen, it's freezing outside!" i look at the running boy, pran, then went inside our house.

Ever since that day, pran would always go to my house and play with my brother or sometimes i would go to his and i found out that uncle Marco is his dad. We played a lot and spend a lot of time together.

"Jenjen, how's your parents?" Uncle Marco asked me as i played with Pran's legos

"My dad is at work while my mom is at home taking care of Taetae." I replied with my baby voice.

"That's good. Do you want something to eat, jenjen?" Uncle Marco asked me and i look up at him.

"I want some donuts!" I replied excitedly. He laugh at me and went to the fridge to get the donuts he brought earlier and let me pick one. I happily thank him and eat it.

"Jen, your brother is here fetching you!" Auntie Alice said from the living room. I immediately went to my brother not minding the legos i played and the unfinished donut i ate.

"Hey jen!" Pran greeted me. I smiled at him

"Hi!" We played in our house until evening. And that's the time where my mother told me that i need to study abroad. I felt sad because i will leave Pran on his own so i argue with my mom but she made a promised that i will come back to Pran.

"Are you sure, you are leaving?" Pran asked me, we are currently inside my bedroom talking about me going abroad.

"Yes lili. But I don't wanna!" I whined. Lili is the nickname i gave to her because he told me that he's name is Lisa in which i replied "Isn't that too girly for you?" And he replied "i am a girl, nini." with a chuckled. I shrugged the thought that she is in fact a girl but i keep on referring him as a boy because he looks like it.

"You need to go, nini, It's for your own good." She said but sadness is visible on her face.

"What if I won't get to be able to see you again?" I pouted and look at my hands. She gently held my hands and made me face her using her other hand.

"We'll see each other again, don't worry." She assured me. So being the stubborn i am, I didn't let go of her hand and we are now face to face to each other.

"Marry me then!" I ordered as she widen his eyes in surprised, completely caught off guard.

"What? We're still young, nini." She chuckled but i keep my serious face.

"Just promise me that when we get older, you'll marry me." I stated with narrowed brows as she look at me, confused. "Lili, just promise me!" I raised my pinky finger while she stares at it. Lisa smiled at me before locking our pinkies together.

"I promise to marry you when we get older, nini." and that made me smile.

That's the last day we saw each other because my mom, Teahyung and i, took a flight going to New Zealand. For months that we spent in NZ, I didn't forget about Pran but when i turned a teenager, I'm starting to slowly forget what happened in the past. I spent my teenager years entertaining myself, hanging out with my new friends, studying and taking care of my siblings. And when i turned 18, we decided to continue living back to our hometown with our new addition to the family, Ella.

"Yah, Jenjen! How long are you going to spend the rest of the afternoon without doing nothing?" Mino oppa scolded me who's now inside my bedroom

"Oppa, i just wanted to have some rest. It's so tiring earlier." I stated and flopped myself on my bed burying my face on my pillows. The meeting is now officially done and i swear, i hate what we discussed in that meeting.

"You're 24 and you act like a grandma." I look at him and rolled my eyes at him then he went out of my room but not completely because i can still hear him shouting "be ready, you'll get married soon little sis!" That's all it take for me to remember what happened at the meeting

"In their dreams!" I shouted back and buried my face more on my pillow and shouts.

Why does it have to be me?
