Chapter 1

"Jen! Go downstairs, Mino cooked breakfast!" My mother shouted causing me to stir from my bed and hurriedly went downstairs.

"Hey Jen!" Taehyung greeted, holding a toy, playing with our youngest, Ella.

"Hey mom," I kissed my mom on her cheeks "Where's dad and Jiyong oppa?" I asked because I didn't see them downstairs. Usually when we're having breakfast, we are complete but the two is missing.

"Oh, they left earlier because they have meetings to attend to. You know the shareholders and stuffs" She narrowed her eyes at me, not interested with business stuffs. I giggled because of that and sat down in the dining room where Taehyung is putting plates on the table. Didn't noticed he's helping Mino oppa, who's cooking by the way.

"Wow, Chef Mino is in the house!" I cheered earning a wiggle of brows from him and a "more!" to boost his pride. When he is finished putting all the foods and the drinks, we all ate together and exchange topics. Topics about school, work, just life in general.

"Oh, Jen darling..." My mom called me from the living room. I'm currently transferring the plates from the cabinet while Taehyung is washing the dishes. Ella is with Mino oppa now, they are playing in Ella's playroom upstairs.

"Yes mom?" I asked.

"I need to talk about something with you. Come with me." I look at V first, our nickname to him, because I don't want to leave him all by himself doing all the dishes but he gave me a nod saying "It's okay sis, i can handle this. Go with mother." And he shooed me away as i shook my head and smile at him.

"What is it that you wanted to talk about?" I asked my mother as we sat down on the bench to our mini backyard. Of course, i stayed polite because it's my mother that I'm talking to, duh?

"Oh, you know.... just wanted to know if you're doing good" She shrugged but i know there is really something going on.

My mom look at me and gave me a smile, smile that can say that it's okay. no need to worry. Great.

"Your father and your eldest brother went to the company earlier because of a sudden meeting from the Manobans" She paused and look away from me so I just waited for her to continue. "The Manobans are the most powerful when it comes to business ever since. But now that the only heir of the Manobans is taking over, the CEO wanted her only daughter to get married as soon as possible." She stopped and looked at me, I furrowed my brows

"And what that has to do with me?" I asked. She sigh, and i think i know where this is going. "Oh, no mom. No! As in N.O. No!" I stood up walking away from my mom. Can't believe they'll do this stuff in modern days.

"Sweetie please, Just listen to me first." She stated causing me to stop and look at her. "Please?" How can i not resist my mother, she's my shoulder to lean on and if ever she said something to me i know she's just thinking of what's best for me. She's always the one who can defend me from my father, my mother is the best. I sigh defeated and walk back then sat again beside her with crossed arms. My mom chuckled.

"You know that I don't have interest in business and stuffs right?" She asked me in which i nodded in agreement. Where's the lie? My mom is not as what everyone thinks she is, she may look like a strict mom who's just thinking about business and reputation but she isn't. My mom is the most precious and the most funny one. "But in this, Jen, I need to because this is the company that your grandfather built decades ago and he sacrificed everything to make it successful as it is right now. So when your father took over the company, it became more successful than it already was, gaining a lot of attention from everyone in the business industry especially the Manobans." She paused. I'm just silently listening to her "So, The Manobans, found out that the company was a big opportunity to their company same goes to ours and decided to merge so that our company and theirs will be inevitable. Do you understand that sweetie?" My mom asked, looking at me worriedly while caressing my hair.

"Yes mom. But why do they need to find someone to marry their heir when she can choose whoever she wants to get married to." I stated, scoffing at the idea. My family is the one who will take responsibility to marry the heir? But who in my siblings? I mean i guess it will be Jiyong oppa because he's the eldest or maybe Mino oppa if Jiyong oppa declined. But not me, na-uh! It can't be, right?

"Because their heir is kind of cold-hearted and you know not easy to handle. So the Manobans thinks that there is someone who can make their daughter change. You know what i mean? And it's just a pure business honey, unless you fall for the brat." She teased. Wait, what!?

"So you mean, i will marry her? Mom! why me? I wouldn't! And it's either Jiyong oppa or Mino oppa she will marry not me! fuck this! " I huffed and rolled my eyes.

"your language Ruby Jane!" She scolded me. "But it will benefit both parties, don't you think?" She sigh and asked me calmly as she nudge at me from the side. It for sure do but I won't, I can't, i-

"Yes.....but it's not me that she'll get to marry." I stood up "So bye for now mom, I'll just have a quick shower and bring Ella to the playground." I said and went inside the house.

I just hope that it is not me who'll she marry. If that's the case then, the heir is gay but i am not, okay!
