Levi's POV

His father is such a troublesome person. Kratz Sebas. I recalled the previous event where I met Ryan's father. He might look nice... yet he is a complete motherfucker.

"How's school?" They invited me to a dinner. But everyone on the family is still on guard, especially Ana.

Ana Sebas. She really is Ryan's step-sister. She gave me these sharp eyes and a smile like she treats me as her nemesis.

"As terrible as you." Ryan replied, with no hesitations even to the potential that he might get kicked out from the house.

"Cocky as always." His dad replied while he opens a new page of the newspaper.

"Bastard as ever." They left the conversation cold and continued eating. They paid me no attention and let go of the things they've said. It is like they are used to situations like this. I'm suspecting that their usual conversations are either as cold as this or they do not actually talk to each other.

"So... you've made yourself a friend." His father opened an unusual, cheerful conversation. He points at me and smiled.

"Guess you could say that it." Ryan replied being cocky as always. He always have this alter ego that changes depending on the place and people he encounter.

"That's a first time..." He said and took off his glasses, "I might cry." He faked his tears and covered his face as if he is a proud father by his son getting his first friend.

"Oh... shut up!" He slams the table and took another plate of food at the kitchen.

"Oh, right..." His father's eyes became sharp and pointed at me. His expression changed as if he is a completely different person. "It wasn't actually the first time."

"Don't you dare..." Ryan said. But his family responds with a smile and an evil laugh to continue their words and make fun of his past encounters, "I've loved how he turned himself when he smelled the money I was about to give, ah that feeling!" His father became weird as hell that it made me stop sipping on the hot soup and just stared at them. Ryan stayed on the kitchen. He isn't moving, yet I can clearly see how he clenched his fist hard and that proved how angered he is.

"I also feel sorry that he had to betray someone for his personal needs," He continued his slapsoil mockery, "Imagine betraying someone over money and leaving your friend behind while he suffers with your doings saying sorry all over and over again! I can't imagine the feeling when he stated that he had no choice but to do i-"

"SHUT THAT FUCKING STINKING HOLE OF YOURS THAT YOU FUCKING CALL A MOUTH." Ryan interfered by breaking his plate by throwing it into the ground. His face resembled a beast that crawls in hatred and wrath.

"Goddamn, you even have bars at this situation." I stopped him before to cool his head. He might murder someone here and break our agreement. I fixed our black school jacket and made a serious posture while I sipped a drink of softdrink.

"You are quite the brave one," Ana initiated the chat with her usual wide grin and sense of mockery, "Say what you've said to me earlier!"

"You are a fucking lunatic, can't change my mind." I gave her a cold shrug and she got offended by my words that she tried to attack me. He was stopped by his father beforehand.

Kratz, the father, crossed his arms and made a serious face at me, "A brave one indeed."

"That might be so." Ryan interrupts us and joined the table once again.

"You made a deal to be the successor?" Kratz cut it short and direct to the point. He did not even beat the bush for a split second.

"...Yeah." An immediate response after a sigh was given by Ryan. He stated it honestly, but I guess that he wants to stumble his dad with his awareness wide open to irritate him more.
