I stood up on my toes to look around for Canada. No matter how short I was compared to some of the other countries, Canada was never hard to miss. He was one of the tallest in the school.
"Hey, Canada!" I shouted as I saw his head peeking over the crowd. I pushed my way towards him within a few seconds. "Hey bro!"
"Hi Ame." Canada gave me a small smile.
"So, how did your first lesson go?" I asked.
"Eh... average. The teacher put me next to Germany."
I thought for a second. "Germany... isn't that the quiet kid?"
"Kind of." Canada looked at the ground awkwardly. I noticed that the crowd was making him uncomfortable.
"Well, it's crowded in here. Do you wanna go outside?" I looked up at him, and he nodded softly. "Alright, come on."
I grabbed his wrist so we wouldn't lose each other, and we started to make our way outside. I suddenly felt something hit my feet hard. I let go of Canada and fell straight to the ground.
"Hey look, the gay boy just fell for me!" A few laughs came from behind me.
I groaned. "I SWEAR TO FUCKING GOD, CHINA!" I quickly pulled myself to my feet. "Fucking asshole," I muttered, glancing at him before walking away with Canada.
Wait, who was that with him? Never mind, it was probably just North Korea again...
"Is he in your class this year?" Canada asked, once we were out of earshot. I shook my head.
"No, but North Korea is."
"I guess it's not all bad, then."
"I guess so. I got put by this really quiet kid though. I swear he's like... stone cold!"
Canada chuckled as I complained. "I'd like to sit by him then."
I gave him a 'really?' look. "He's so boring!" I thought for a moment. "I'm going to make him talk by the end of the year."
"What?" Canada looked at me, surprised. "You realize not everyone wants to talk to you in class, right?" I rolled my eyes.
"Bitch, I'm America, the most popular kid in my year. Why wouldn't they?" We both erupted in a fit of laughter.
"Really though, I'm gonna make him talk to me by the end of the year. It's my goal."
-
"Fwooooooop!" I made a noise as I slid my bag under my desk. Russia just stared out of the window. I sat down next to him.
"Hey!" He didn't respond. I hit my head on my desk, causing a few people to turn around. Russia just glanced at me.
"Uhm, are you alright, America?"
I kept my head on my desk, but lifted my hand up to give a thumbs up. "Yeah miss, I'm good." Some of the class laughed. Nice.
"Why do you do dumb stuff for attention?"
My head shot up. Russia was looking at me. "Did you just say something to me?!" Russia nodded slightly, giving me a weird look.
"Wow, I almost thought you couldn't talk!" A few people who sat close to us laughed quietly, but most of the class was busy at this point.
"Answer the question."
"Oh right, so, you see..." I brought my legs above the table and leaned back in my chair. "I'm a comedian, Russki. I make people-"
"Legs off the table, America!"
I groaned, taking my legs off the table. "Sorry Miss," I said in a long, drawn-out way, causing her to glare at me but also causing people to laugh. I turned back to Russia. "See? They're laughing."
"Don't call me that," he said in a cold tone, pretty much ignoring my answer. Rude.
"Call you what?" I asked, smirking. "Russki?" He glared at me.
"Fiiine... Russki." I smirked more as he turned away, annoyed.
Wait... did I just manage a conversation with him?
I grinned. Maybe this would be easier than I thought.
