"Hey Kiwi, over here!" I shouted towards New Zealand. He grinned and walked over to me.
"Hey Ame!"
"Have you seen the other two anywhere?" I asked, since they were supposed to be here by now.
"Australia is in detention and-"
"What, why?!" I was surprised, since I would usually be the one in detention. Not Australia.
"He brought his tarantula to school," New Zealand said, rolling his eyes. I facepalmed.
"That fucking idiot! Well, we'd better wait for him. Where's Canada?"
"He said he was going to someone's house... Jamaica's I think." I stared blankly at him.
"Canada... going to someone's house? Are you sure? That's not like him." New Zealand just shrugged, knowing no more than I did. I sighed.
"Well, I guess I should call Mom and tell her."
I pulled my phone out of my pocket and called our mom. It rang a few times before she picked up.
"Ame? What's wrong mon chéri?"
I sighed, slightly embarrassed. "Hey Mom, we're going to be late home 'cause Australia decided to bring his pet tarantula to school. Oh, and Canada is going to someone's house."
"Wait, really?" she asked, just as surprised as I was.
"Apparently so."
"Well, at least he is making friends finally. Call me when Australia is out of school, okay?"
"Yeah, sure."
"Bye Ame, je t'aime!"
I groaned quietly. "Yeah, love you too Mom," I responded before hanging up. Then I looked at New Zealand.
"What are you laughing at, you fucking kiwi?!" He started laughing more, so I punched his arm softly.
"Hey!"
I smirked. "Well anyway, how was your day? You didn't really talk about it earlier."
New Zealand perked up. "My teacher sat me next to Philippines!" I grinned; my younger brother had a very contagious smile.
"Awesome! I got sat next to-"
"The quiet kid, I know. You wouldn't shut up about him at lunch!"
I laughed awkwardly. "Come on, I wasn't complaining about him for that long!"
New Zealand gave me a 'really?' look. "Dude, anyone would think you had a crush on him how much you were talking about him!" He erupted into a fit of laughter.
"Fuck off, I have standards you know!" I replied, crossing my arms.
"Oh really?"
"Of course I do!" I exclaimed, acting offended.
"Yeah, whatever. Oh, by the way, I heard about what China did to you at break. You alright?"
I nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. He's just being an asshole." I laughed slightly, and New Zealand smiled.
"As long as you're okay, bro."
"Oi, America, Kiwi!" I turned to see Australia running towards us, his hands cupped around something.
"I am not happy with you!" I exclaimed as he came closer to us. "I tell you to put your snake back, and you bring a fucking tarantula instead! What the hell is wrong with you?!"
Australia grinned, looking guilty. "Sorry, mate!"
I rolled my eyes. "Well, let's go." I didn't give them a chance to reply since I was already walking away.
"Hey, wait!" Australia called as he caught up to me, followed by New Zealand. "Where's Canada?"
"At a friend's house," I responded, not looking at him. "By the way, Mom wants you to call her."
"Oh, alright. Can you hold this for me a minute then?"
"Yeah, whatever." I held my hand out and he placed something in it. It felt strange, so I had a look to see what it was.
"WHAT THE FUCK AUSTRALIA?!" I yelled, almost dropping the tarantula in fear.
"Chill, she won't bite," he said calmly, pulling his phone out. Meanwhile, I was anything but calm. I held the spider out as far as I could, trying not to let it near my face.
"It's crawling up my arm!"
"Ame, it hasn't even moved."
"Shut up, Kiwi! Do you want to hold it instead?!" I shoved the spider into his face, causing him to scream and hide behind Australia, who was totally ignoring the situation.
"Heh, I thought s- IT'S MOVING!!" I screamed, totally freezing.
"Mate, chill out!" Australia said after a moment, putting his phone away and taking the tarantula back.
"I'm gonna fucking kill you," I mumbled under my breath. We continued walking in silence for a few minutes.
"So, has he said anything to you yet?" Australia asked.
"Who? Russki?" I snickered, remembering our conversation from earlier.
"Yeah," he responded.
"Yes actually, I managed to have a conversation with him!" I grinned.
"What did he say to you?" New Zealand asked.
"Uhh... that part doesn't matter," I replied awkwardly.
"He thinks you're annoying, doesn't he?" Australia said, somehow guessing the exact truth.
"Maybe..? But I will get him to talk to me properly!"
"Yeah, we'll see about that."
