Tatum got home, did her cozy evening routine and had dinner whilst facetiming her family who lived a couple of towns away. When it was time for bed, she was beyond exhausted from a week of work, as usual. She fell asleep within the blink of an eye.
Tatum woke up to the sound of her alarm. No, she didn't set her alarm last night. What could it be then? The fire alarm? She was suddenly wide awake. She tried to focus on the sound as it occurred again, and quickly realized it was her doorbell. Relieved, she went to open the door immediately, not being able to think straight. And in front of her stood Miss Darce.
She was wearing a top and blazer with chinos, high heels and holding a Gucci bag. Her hair was curled and shiny and she had on beautifully done natural makeup, it all complimented by accessories in gold. She looked stunning. Tatum suddenly realized how she looked herself. An overused striped thin pajamas, no shoes or socks, messy bed-head and probably huge bags under her eyes. She was very uncomfortable with looking like this in front of her beautiful boss. "I'm sorry, is this a bad time?" "What time is it?" Tatum asked her. "It's half past nine." Shit. Tatum should definitely be up by now. "Then this is entirely my fault."
"I wouldn't have guessed you were someone who slept in on weekends." Miss Darce smiled. "That's like the best compliment I've ever gotten!" Tatum said and Miss Darce laughed. "So, would you like to come in?" Tatum was feeling bold. She had probably just come because Tatum didn't answer her phone. "I'd love to. And don't worry, I'll wait for you to put yourself together a bit." Tatum laughed and let Miss Darce in before rushing to her bedroom to get ready. "This is beautiful!" She heard Miss Darce say from inside her living room. "Thanks, I'm glad you like it." She shouted back as she was putting a pair of jeans on. She zipped them up then started to brush her hair.
"How did you even get my adress anyway?" She yelled. "I may have asked one of your colleagues..." Miss Darce yelled back. "That's clever!" Tatum was finally ready and walked into her living space looking presentable. She sat down on a couch opposite her guest and said "So. What brings you here?" Miss Darce started looking a bit flustered. "I can't get you off my mind. I...I just had to see you." Tatum didn't know what to say. This incredible woman wanted to see her? She blushed. "That's sweet." Tatum said and flashed her a smile. For the first time since she had known Miss Darce, she looked slightly nervous. But it only lasted for a moment.
"Would you like to do something?" Miss Darce said and Tatum just looked at her. She was being too vague. "With me, I mean." Tatum smiled at her. "Did you have something in mind?" Miss Darce grinned. "Maybe."
Before she knew it, they were in Miss Darce's car, drivning towards God knows where. Tatum didn't like surprises, but she felt completely safe with this woman. And most of all, she felt so insanely happy to be with her. Miss Darce had a fast car, probably worth more than what was fathomable. Tatum felt like she was in a scene from a movie. She never thought she would be sitting in a fancy car on a date with the woman of her dreams. But she was, right in this moment. So she did the only thing she could do, and enjoyed every moment.
"Will you tell me where you're taking me?" She asked. There was a playful grin on Miss Darce's face as she said "You'll just have to wait and see." They were going further and further out of the city and soon they were rolling over big hills with an amazing view. Miss Darce pulled back the ceiling of the car, leaving it open with air flowing in. Tatum leaned back, put her hands in the air and closed her eyes, just feeling the wind on her face. The speed was high as she let out a scream of joy and then looked at Miss Darce. She was looking back at Tatum with the most beautiful smile all over her face.
"You're incredible!" Miss Darce told her and it was clear that she meant it. Tatum just laughed. She had never felt this happy before. They both looked at the view as they drove along the roads that were going higher and higher. They drove over green hills that seemed to be neverending. When they were high enough to feel like they could touch the clouds, the car came to an end. They had reached their destination. Miss Darce lead Tatum to the edge of a cliff where a viewing platform had been built. When they stood there, together, Tatum felt like they were floating over the city they both called home.
"This is beautiful!" Tatum's hair was blowing in the wind. "You're beautiful." Miss Darce took her hands and came a little closer. Tatum felt free and alive, and she wouldn't have wanted to share this feeling with anybody else. "Miss Darce?" "Yes, Miss Beck?" Tatum looked into her smiling, dreamy brown eyes. "What's your name?" Miss Darce let out the most adorable giggle. "It's Jane."
Right in that moment, Tatum felt the strongest she had ever felt for anyone. They had only just met, but every minute spent with Jane was so perfect it felt like a dream she never wanted to wake up from. She knew it wasn't possible, but the feeling in her heart couldn't be described as anything other than...love. She reached out her hand, put a strand of Jane's shiny blonde hair behind her ear, and kissed her. The world was spinning as the two of them bacame one. It was the most passionate kiss Tatum had ever experienced. They were in each other's arms, safe together. It was an indescribable feeling.
