The sun was rising as Tatum and Jane sat at their new favorite spot in their new favorite park. An old green park bench underneath a beautiful old maple tree was the perfect place to sit and think, talk, or just be. Tatum's arm was wrapped around Jane who rested her head on her shoulder. Jane's eyes were closed, enjoying the feeling of sunlight on her skin. "You seem to be having a good time." Tatum wispered playfully in Jane's ear.
"I am!" She answered with a dreamy pleasure in her voice, stretched her arms out and smiled. Tatum loved when she was being all goofy like this. "I'm glad." She laughed. "Unfortunately, though, I think we should be getting to work." "Nooo!" Jane whined. "Can't we just stay here and sleep the whole day?" "I also wish we could."
Tatum sighed. She, too, found it hard to be responsible when it meant she had to leave a good moment with the beautiful Jane. She stood up, took Jane's hand and pulled her up from the bench. Jane leaned on her as they started walking towards the car. "Hey, I'm also tired!" "I'm sorry." Jane started walking on her own, very slowly. It was a Monday, and they had been up late last night watching movies in Tatum's new apartment. They were both still exhausted from the move, change takes a lot of energy.
They got to Jane's car and drove off. The walking distances in this city were long and Tatum didn't drive, so she was so glad she and Jane worked in the same building. The roof of Jane's luxury car was up and she was narrowing her eyes in the morning sunlight. Tatum reached for Jane's sunglasses and put them on her face, which made her laugh. They talked about their new colleagues as Jane navigated through the busy streets, she hadn't quite learned her way around the city yet.
They had lived, and worked, here for one week, today would be the start of the second. Jane got settled in quickly at her new job whilst Tatum had a bit of a hard time adjusting, but they were both very happy to get to see each other at work from time to time. Jane pulled up to the building of one of the new city's top law firms. They got out and took the elevator together, reaching floor twenty four. They split ways with a kiss goodbye and Tatum headed towards her new desk space. It was still in a corner, all her usual belongings were there, but the view was something new. Looking out far over the city, Tatum felt like she could see just about anything from there.
She turned on her little desk lamp just for its cozy lightning. Before she got to work, her new boss walked by her desk. Her new boss, who had earlier offered her to become a lawyer. Tatum suspected her old boss, Mr Abraham, had something to do with it. Tatum wished she could be a lawyer, but at this point in her life she didn't feel like she could handle the pressure. So instead, she got offered to work the same position as before, but to accompany and assist lawyers in court, which she loved. She had so much fun looking over cases with her new boss, who loved it as much as Mr Abraham did.
And of course, her absolute favorite thing to do was to assist Jane in court. She was just as amazing in there as anywhere else, she kicked ass every time and Tatum loved it. "Good morning Mr Han." She greeted her new boss. "Morning Tatum." He smiled at her. "Do you have any old cases for me to look at?" Tatum reached him a big bunch of files she had compiled over the weekend.
"Of course, sir." Mr Han smiled at the weight of the files. Making this man happy was no hard task. "Oh, and I almost forgot - Jane asked me to send you her way, she's presenting a big case in court this afternoon and could use your assistance." His words made Tatum so happy. "Thank you, sir!" Mr Han walked away and Tatum gathered all she could possibly need and hurried towards Jane's office.
Tatum and Jane talked, laughed and wrote down their thoughts. Jane had a billion cups of coffe to get her psyched for court. They took her car there, and took their positionst. Tatum loved watching her do what she did all afternoon. She was amazing and the defense had nothing on her. The trial dragged on for longer than they had expected.
When it finally ended, both Tatum and Jane seemed to be drunk but it was actually tiredness. They walked out of court with their arms around each other, laughing uncontrolably at something the defense attourney said. The sun was setting, it was beautiful outside, but all they could manage to do was go home. Jane's apartment had a bigger bed so that's where they went. They called a cab to take them home, they could pick up Jane's car tomorrow.
Tatum and Jane stumbled over each other, entering Jane's apartment. They helped each other take their fancy clothes off and then collapsed next to each other in bed. For a short time they laid awake, looking in each other's eyes. The tiering eye contact was all they needed to fall asleep.
Jane woke up first. She was looking at Tatum as she opened her eyes, suddenly full of energy. Tatum reached her hand out and caressed Jane's cheek. "Good morning, gorgeous." She whispered tenderly. "You're gorgeous." Jane kissed her lips carefully. It was only a peck, but it made Tatum wish for more. She sat up. Jane looked at her, confused.
"You're not tired either?" "For the first time in forever, no." Jane laughed and sat up as well. "Want to have morning sex?" Tatum smirked and answered "Now we're talking." She pulled Jane in and when their lips hit each other, their affection for each other was a fact. Their passion was unique, it could only be reached by the two of them together. They were one together, it was obvious. They belonged together. And they were so happy.
Tatum and Jane were lying on their backs next to each other in bed, holding hands, breathing heavily. Jane turned her head and looked at Tatum. "You're perfect, do you know that?" Tatum didn't have to think about her answer. She turned to look at Jane and said "It's all because of you." They looked at each other intensely, faces straight. Then they burst out laughing. The feeling in Tatum's chest was indescribable. She knew it was the feeling of having found your soulmate.
