On a Saturday evening the last thing anybody wants to do is sit in a dark, muggy shop that none ever goes into, for several hours. For Luke, it was 9:30pm, meaning he only had a few hours left until he could go home. Simon had left quite a while ago, leaving him with the keys. That happened a lot, him leaving the keys. He would throw Luke the keys and barley be able to walk straight to his car without falling over or throwing up, which he did a lot. But Luke was stuck there. With nothing to do and wanting to sleep. He would have but he knew that if he did, he may not have woken up again.

But that never stopped him before.

......

Luke was then abruptly woken up by the sound of the shop door opening.

He slowly opened his eyes and looked around the now bright room.

"Shit," he whispered to himself, picking up his phone to look at the time.

27 missed calls, 57 missed texts, 27 voicemails, 8:26am.

"Hello?" a soft voice, obviously belonging to a girl, broke him from his thoughts.

He looked up to see who the person that decided to come into this dump was.

"Hi, welcome to cible, where we are pretty much a cheap shitty version of target that no one shops at," he said resting his head in his hands, still trying to see who had walked in since the sun was blocking his view.

"Hi, yeah I was wondering if there was any job positions?" the girl asked him stepping in front of the sun, meaning Luke could see her now.

"Um my boss isn't here at the moment but," he trailed off and took what she looked like in, "Do I know you?"

"I don't think so?" she told him, scratching her wrist.

"I do! You were on the train with me the other day," he told her, seeming too happy with himself.

"Oh yeah. So um about the job?" she asked changing the subject back to what originally was.

"I could text my boss but he's probably drunk off his head," he said, unlocking his phone and getting rid of the notifications from his mum, that he knew he had to reply to before he got in any more trouble.

Luke: hey simon. some girl walked into the shop... she wants a job in this shithole.

Simon: don't care. interview her and decide. I won't be and do it

Luke: sure. I'd be delighted

Luke rolled his eyes and looked up at the girl, who he had yet to learn the name of.

"My boss said I could interview you. So if you want you can have an interview now. Do you want one?" He asked her moving some junk from the front desk, in case she wanted to have an interview.

"If it's no trouble," she smiled, looking at him.

"Okay. We'll do it out here," He said, moving as much of the stuff off the counter as possible into neat spots.

"Out here? Won't someone walk in?" she asked.

"You're the first person to walk in here in weeks," he sighed trying to find a chair that wasn't contaminated for her to sit on.

"Then how is this place still open?" she questioned.

"I'm not entirely sure. But it doesn't bother me as long as I'm payed, and it's a good amount of money," he shrugged, pulling a chair behind in for her to sit on.

"I guess that's alright," she smiled at him sitting down.

"So I guess I should start the interview," Luke said changing the subject and sitting in his seat behind the desk.

"Maybe," she slightly laughed, looking anywhere but at him.

"Uh, do you have your resume with you?" he asked her, still trying to move some more junk from the desk.

"Yeah," she mumbled as she reached into her bag and pulled out her resume, "Here."

"Thanks. Sorry I never got your name," he remembered not wanting to look at the resume to know it.

"Maylah," she told him, "Maylah Clifford."

"Well Maylah Clifford, let's start your interview."
