An Outsiders Imagine

Chapter One

story starts on:
July 1st.

Today is the day I move in with my cousin Keith. It's not something I wanted to do, but he's the only responsible person they could find that was willing to take me in.
I had a 19 hour train ride ahead of me.

I've been on the train for 18 hours. I can't sleep. I wonder how Keith was holding up, I haven't seen him for two years.

You get off the train with your two bags and Keith runs over to you.
"Hey Kimb"
"Hey Keith"
"Actually they call me Two-Bit now"
"Who is they?"
"The gang"
"Your in a what?!"
"Talk in the car"

you talked the whole way and seems like he's changed.
"We're here"
You get out and he brings your bags to your room.
"And back in the car" he says
so you turn around and get back in
your drive to a small house and get out.
"This is were everyone is right now, Well, my friends."
you nod and he walks in first
as soon as you walk in everyone stares at you.
you see someone pull out a switchblade.
"Who's this broad?"
"Two-Bit has a soc?"
two-bit got annoyed "she's my cousin, you follow?"
"No" they all said.
"Her parents killed her brother and then they got arrested, death penalty now lives with me"
they just sit there.not saying anything. but you didn't listen to what two-bit was saying cause you could care less. but you wanted to know what a soc was?  "What's a soc?"
they stare and you and start to feel uncomfortable.
"Rich kids, snobby ones. We are greasers."
you nod and your about to say something but two-bit nudges you and shots you a look.
you smirk.
they told you their names.
Dallas spoke up "What were you gonna say earlier but Two-Bit cut you off, Doll?"
you gave him a disgusted look "That's none of your business"
he smirks and goes back to playing cards with Steve.
then two a boy bursts in. "Johnny is in the ol' lot. he got jumped and it's pretty bad.
they all ran out and you went with them.
they pulled up in the lot and you saw Johnny, laying there.
"oh my god" you say really low and no one heard.
"GET HIM IN THE CAR" Dallas yelled.

We were at the hospital for three hours and Johnny came out just fine.

"Your coming to my place tonight" Two-bit said to Johnny.
johnny nodded.
then the other kid asks "who's this girl"
"oh Kimberly, my cousin"
"Oh I'm ponyboy and that's Johnny"
johnny gave a little wave

You guys all agreed to stay the night at the Curtis'.
Johnny and Pony went to his room and Darry went to bed.
Dallas spoke up "Kimberley, wanna go to a party?"
"Um it's midnight"
"Great, it just started"
Steve spoke up "she ain't goin, specially with what happened tonight.
soda joined in "Yea, don't want this girl to get jumped on day one do ya? And anyway you have a chick."
Dallas rolled his eyes and eventually fell asleep. and so did the rest of us.

you wake up to Darry cooking eggs.
your first awake so you decided to go talk to him "Darry?"
"Yea"
"With What happened to Johnny, does that always happen?"
"Sadly. Sometimes people die"
you sit on the counter and you guys talk until Dally walks in.
"I was out this morning and heard the socs wanted a greaser girl to keep em pleased"
Darry froze "you jokin or serious?"
"I wish I was kiddin"
you coughed by accident and it caused Dally to just notice you.
"You weren't meant to here that"
"Well I did"
he walks out.
Darry speaks up again "go wake Johnny and Pony"
you nod and head upstairs and knock on the door, Johnny says to come in
"Hey boys"
"Hey" they both say
"What's wrong? Y'all seem sad."
"Yea cause ol' Dally told us what the socs want"
"You ain't gonna give to them will you?"
"We don't have a say"
