~It's Starting....~

Salena's P.O.V (AGE 14)

"SALENA!!!"

I jolted up at the scream. Then I realized that it was only Juno calling me for breakfast. I got out of bed and changed into a jean jacket, maroon shirt, and black leggings. I quickly made my way to the kitchen and sat down at the table with Juno and my father.

I stared at my bacon and eggs before glancing up at father. He was reading the newspaper as he always was. I glanced at Juno and saw that she was going through the daily mail. I sighed quietly and started to eat my food.

I was almost finished when Juno gasped. I looked up and saw that she was standing now with a letter in her hand. I looked from her to dad, who seemed unfazed. He just glanced at me, which I found weird, then continued to read the newspaper.

Juno came over to me and handed me the letter, "Do you want to explain to me why you just received a letter from that Dreaded U.A. highschool?"

I looked up at her in surprise, "I honestly don't know. You saw my highschool entrance paper. It was even written in ink and I couldn't have gotten another copy."

She fumed then slapped it onto the table in front of me, "Open it. We'll see why you got a letter in the first place."

"O-okay," I said, picking up the letter and glancing at dad again. I looked again when I noticed he was actually watching me. "Um, okay, it says 'Dear Ms. Katike. We have gotten a letter of great importance from a person, who chose to be anonymous, that explained about how you wanted to get into U.A. but couldn't for personal reasons."

"In the letter, the person recommended you for our recommendation exam. Said person believed that you could benefit from the private written exam but the public physical exam. We hope you will come to see if you are really as strong as our tipper said you are. Principal Nezu...' Who would have recommended me for the private entrance exam?"

Juno was fuming visually and stole the letter from me, "Who indeed?!"

"Well I can't refuse the principal of U.A. Juno. I'm going," I turned swiftly to head to my room.

"What?! No you aren't! That hero world is horrible and dangerous. It's what took you mother."

I whipped around and advanced on Juno, "Disease took my mother, you witch! If you had even cared to listen to me when I was crying over it alone in my room, you would have known that! It was all over the GOSH DARN NEWS! You try to stop me from following my dream, you get an unwilling model and a runaway daughter."

Before she could even say anything I left the room and walked away. I entered my room and leaned against the door. That was the first time I had actually stood up to Juno. Sure, I had had spats and arguments but they always weighed in her favor.

I exchanged my leggings for shorts and my shirt with a seafoam tank top. I made my way to the front door and tied on my black tennis shoes. Then I ran and ran all the way to the beach. I noticed someone and immediately recognized the mop of green hair.

"IZU," I yelled running down the stairs. I looked around and noticed that he was surrounded by trash bags.

"H-hey Lena," he stuttered, "Didn't expect that you would be out here."

"Yeah well," I kicked at the sand, "I was trying to clear my head and think through some decisions that I've been given."

"Oh. Anything I can help with."

I shook my head, "No, not really. They're kind of those problems that you have to solve yourself. What are you doing down here anyway?"

"O-oh I thought if I was going to become a hero I would probably have to do something to get stronger. Someone I really look up to, said I should try to do something good while I'm getting fit, so here I am."
