Just a Typical School Day

Another day of school. I groaned as my alarm went off, waking me earlier then I wanted to be up. It took a few minutes before I motivated myself to get out of bed. I made my way out of my room and to the kitchen.

"Morning bud" my dad greeted me with. I just waved as I headed to the pantry. I grabbed the box of cereal we had then went to the cabinet for a bowl. As I sat at the table and poured myself a bowl, dad started getting ready to head out.
"I'll be at the studio all day. Are you stopping by after school?" He asked while grabbing his keys.
"Sure, Zach can give me some guitar lessons" I said. Dad smiled and said goodbye before heading out the door.

I finished my breakfast and headed back to my room to change into clean clothes. I picked out my black iron man tee shirt and black ripped jeans, and finished the look with my red beanie. Looking over at my clock, I realized I had to rush out the door so I wouldn't be late. I slipped on my black converse and rushed out the door, grabbing my backpack and skateboard on the way.

I jumped onto my skateboard and took off towards the school. It never took long, but some days I liked to take my time. That is, I'd take my time on days I wasn't running late. I arrived at school with only five minutes to spare before the first bell rang. The first thing I did was go to my locker, where my friend Daisy was waiting for me.
"I thought you'd be late again" She said with a smirk. I rolled my eyes as I put skateboard in my locker.
"Almost. Decided to rush this morning" I said back. She just nudged my shoulder and walked to class. The warning bell went off, so I closed up my locker and rushed down the hall to my first class.

Biology felt so long and boring. I think I might have even fallen asleep for a few minutes while Mr. Brown lectured us. I rushed out of the classroom as soon as that bell rang. There was ten minutes before the next period, so I decided to look for Daisy. I found her standing by the library with her boyfriend David. I stopped in my tracks when I saw them talking, David and I never really got along so I didn't want to ruin their moment. Daisy looked over and smiled at me, but I just waved and walked to my next class.

Next up was History, as subject I actually enjoyed. It helps that my teacher Mrs. Hanson made lessons interesting.  We were given a worksheet to work on independently, and I got done with it before class ended. I started drumming on my desk as I waited for the bell.
"Can you cut that out? It's distracting" One of my classmates asked in an annoyed tone. I apologized and spent the last ten minutes watching the clock. Once, that bell rang, I rushed out of the classroom and into the cafeteria.

Daisy was waiting for me at our usual table. I grabbed a salad in the lunch line before joining her.
"I saw you earlier but you didn't say hi. What was that about?" She asked.
"You know David doesn't like me" I mumbled while poking at my salad with my fork.
"You two need to learn to get along" She said with a huff. As if I didn't try for her. I sighed and poked around my food. I wasn't that hungry today.
"You ready to graduate?" I asked. A big smile came across her face.
"Of course I am! I can't wait to get out of here" She said. I chuckled and looked up at her.
"Same here. Maybe I'll find a band to join and travel the world" I said.
"Parker, you already have a band" Daisy giggled. I just rolled my eyes.
"That's my dad's band"
"Whatever, still counts"
"Shut up"
We both started laughing, then the bell rang. Lunch always felt too short. I threw out the rest of my salad and followed Daisy out into the hall.

Next up was English, my favorite subject. I stopped by my locker before it started to grab my book. We were reading "Of Mice and Men", and so far I was really enjoying it. I spent my time in class sitting in the corner of the room reading. My teacher Mr. Dost was cool enough to give me a pillow to lean against as I read. I was pulled out of the book by my phone going off. Checking to make sure Mr. Dost wasn't watching me, I pulled it out to see I had a message from Daisy.
"Come over my place after school" She wrote. I sighed and sent a quick text back.
"Can't. Told my dad I'd be at the studio"
"You're no fun" She wrote back fairly quickly. I rolled my eyes and shoved my phone back into my pocket before getting back into the story.

Eventually the bell rang, so I got up and grabbed my bag before heading back to my locker. I put some books away before heading to my last class of the day, German. It was on the other side of the school and I took my time getting there. It's not that I didn't like learning the language, it was the fact that my class was small and not a lot of learning was actually going on. It didn't surprise me to enter the classroom and see my teacher Herr Knight setting up another movie for us to watch. I took my seat laid my head on my desk, hoping to get another nap in this class.

I was startled awake from the bell. I looked up to see my teacher standing over my desk, arms crossed.
"I expect you to stay awake Herr Smith" He scowled.
"Sorry sir" was all I could say. I should've apologized in German, but I couldn't remember how. He just nodded and went back to his desk, so I got out of their quickly. I rushed to my locker to grab my skateboard. Daisy walked by holding David's hand. He shot my a dirty look and I just smiled back. I had to try being nice for my best friend's sake. Once they passed, I closed up my locker and headed out the front doors of the school. I walked a bit off the property before dropping my skateboard and jumping on. I headed straight towards the studio to meet up with dad and his friends.
