The next week felt colder than the Antarctic to Taehyung.

Jungkook was ignoring him all day, he slept in his own bedroom from now on and only joined Taehyung when he went to shower or had a rough day. Then Jungkook would undress and get into Taehyung's office, which he had at his house, and just make him feel better.
But besides from those times, Jungkook refrained from talking to the older, he stopped smiling and spent much time in front of the TV, watching Netflix. Sometimes Taehyung caught the boy sobbing over a movie but whenever he asked him if he could join him watching Jungkook denied and simply said, only if he gets some extra money at the end of the month.

Taehyung felt like the boy was seeing all of this as nothing but a job ever since the day when they met Lisa at the shooting.
It ruined a whole lot for them and Taehyung apologized a thousand times for making a scene-, but he never seemed to understand why Jungkook was so mad.
No one actually did.

Jimin came over once and tried to talk to Jungkook but the boy always changed the topic as soon as Taehyung's name was mentioned, plus he only seemed to call Taehyung boss, not by his name anymore. Something was going on and no one understood it.
Not even Jungkook.

The boy cried every night because he just wanted to be held by Taehyung, he longed for his sweet scent. Somehow he always smelled like roses and happiness. He'd love to ask Taehyung about his day or watch movies with him, but that wasn't what they were.
Jungkook was nothing but Taehyung's fuckboy and he tried to not get his hopes up anymore.

At some point, Yoongi only said, "Treat him like your employee, maybe he'll stop behaving like this then."

Taehyung didn't like that idea for a long time but when he sat at dinner on a Friday night and Jungkook was just looking at his spaghetti without eating them, Taehyung couldn't hold it back in.
"You know, if you want to leave, you can just go. You know that, right?"
It was the first time in a while that Jungkook looked up and right into the older's eyes. "Why would I want to leave?", he asked bluntly.

"You don't seem happy anymore."
"I've never been happy, Boss", Jungkook laughed, "But that's my thing. Don't worry about it."

"I should worry about it, though", Taehyung let out a sigh, ruffling his hair. The younger only smiled, stuffing his mouth with the noodles as he went silent and didn't say another word for the whole dinner.

This happened a few more times, Taehyung would ask Jungkook but the younger would only tell him not to worry. But every time he did so, Taehyung could hear the younger sobbing in his bedroom not much later. He just didn't understand why, he had no clue what happened to the Jungkook he had met only a few weeks earlier.

There wasn't even anything bratty or rude left, he just seemed off. All the goddamn time.

It was Sunday when Taehyung came into Jungkook's room at night and held a paycheck in his left hand. "Hi", he hummed through the darkness. The boy had the lights out, he was reading with his flashlight of his phone. He looked up as he saw Taehyung standing in the door frame, "It's late", he smiled weakly, wiping away the stained tears from his cheeks.
"Can I spend the night with you?", Taehyung asked in a small voice, stepping closer.

"I'm really tired, Boss", Jungkook looked away, his butt still a little sore from yesterday when they did it in the shower late at night because Kook found Taehyung still hanging over his work stuff. "And sore-"
"I didn't mean sex", the boy sighed and sat down on Jungkook's bed, "I don't like sleeping alone."
