"I'm picking you up in twenty minutes, where are you right now?"

It was Taehyung's low voice that made Jungkook forget where he was for a second, "Oh", he let out quietly. "Taehyung?", he asked quietly, voice shaking. Taehyung sounded serious, his tone was sharp and he wasn't going to joke around for sure.
"Just tell me where you are right now", the boy repeated, voice distant.

"I'm at a friend's", he let out quietly. He added the address while Mark only nodded and quickly pulled his hand out of Jungkook's grip. At a friend's. That's all he was when it came to Taehyung.
Jungkook saw how Mark's expression dropped and he felt sorry immediately. He knew way too well how it felt to be second choice. He mouthed a sorry.

Taehyung wrote down the address and then ended the call without saying goodbye.

"So, you're leaving?", Mark asked when Jungkook looked at him after the call ended.
The boy nodded, "Looks like it. I don't know what he wants though."

Mark shrugged, "Probably a good explanation for everything you did", he said. "You won't text me again, right?", he asked then, biting his lips awkwardly.
Jungkook shook his head, "Probably not, I'm sorry", he said in all honesty.

"It's fine", the other replied.
It was odd, none of them really seemed to feel bad about the other, it was just fine to leave.
Maybe because they didn't even kiss yet or had any romantic feelings going on, they just hung out and had a great time flirting with the other.
That was it.

"Thank you though", Jungkook hummed. "Really, you're a great guy."

"C'mon dude, don't pull this shit now", Mark giggled, "I know I'm great. But your heart is taken. Good luck with him, okay?"
Jungkook nodded, hope crawling up. Maybe Taehyung and him finally had a chance?
After all, there was nothing in the way anymore, right?

Well, if you ignored the fact that Jungkook ruined Taehyung's whole life with the shit he pulled yesterday.

Jungkook headed outside and waited there for Taehyung.
Only a couple minutes later the boy arrived and his driver opened the door up for Jungkook, letting him in.
Kook sat down on his seat and his eyes immediately glanced at Taehyung who sat next to him and stared into nowhere.

"Hi?", he asked confused. "Why did you come pick me up?"

Taehyung didn't even look at him.

"I confirmed the rumors, you will now be a subject to the press. My team will give you a quick introduction on how to deal with annoying paparazzi and questions that will make you uncomfortable. Trust me, they will come."
Jungkook was speechless, "Wait, that's why you called me?"

Taehyung nodded, "I'm protecting your safety. Being known as gay in this country is dangerous. It can get you killed at any given time."

"You didn't call me because you wanted me back?", Jungkook whispered, voice breaking.

Taehyung ignored that, he just kept talking, "I'm offering you to pay you a bodyguard and you can stay at my place until we found you a new place to live. I doubt you want people showing up at your parents house, right?"
Jungkook was too confused to answer.

"I'm sorry I pulled you into this, Jungkook", Taehyung said. "But denying those rumors would've just thrown a bad light onto me. It's for the best if I disappear from the spotlight with a confirmation. I'm sorry you will have to deal with all this shit now too."
