Candice dragged herself to the door and opened it, the person that stood on the other side made a scowl appear on her face “ Kiya isn't here. ” she stated already closing the door.
Harry inserted his leg to prevent the door from being slammed on his face, “ I actually came here to talk to you. ” he said.
Candice opened the door slightly but she didn't allow Harry to walk in her house, instead she stood blocking him on the doorway. “ what do you want? ” she asked sounding annoyed.
“ I just wanted to apologize for the last time. ” he explained meaning the time his grandpa had offered her money to help them catch his own dad, he knew his grandpa didn't mean to be disrespectful in fact he thought he was doing Candice a favor offering him money but to Candice it all seemed like an insult coming from the white guy as she had called him.
“ go tell your old man not everybody will bow down to him because of his money. ” she spat.
“ I know and I'm sorry, but he didn't mean to come off as rude. It's just that with my dad walking around free none of us are safe, especially my little sister since she keeps on escaping to meet up with him. ” he explained.
For the first time Candice really looked at Harry and saw how vulnerable he really was, she saw the little boy struggling to protect his family from his own father. She saw the side of him that she refused to see all this time, “ come on inside, I'll get you something to drink. ” she offered.
Harry hesitantly walked inside he felt welcomed in this house for the first time, he sat on the couch and waited for Candice who came back with a glass of water and gave it to him.
“ so how is the search for him going so far? ” she asked after they had finally settled down.
“ well there is a new lead on him, someone had reported seeing him leave the dance studio that Aria went to and he was seen with her but the person got a picture of the car's license plate so the police are tracking down the owner. ”
“ oh! Kiya told me about that days ago, I guess she didn't know the little girl was your sister. ” Candice said.
“ um...speaking of Kiya, when do you think she's coming back? ” he asked scratching the back of his neck.
“ I thought you weren't here to see her? ” she asked with a knowing smile on her face, Candice had clearly decided in her mind that she liked this boy more than she had liked Tyler.
“ well I was just asking, I'll be going now. ” he said already getting up to leave, “ alright see you. ” she said waving awkwardly at him as he left.

Ken walked in Will's study room and sat at the chair facing him. They sat separated by the office desk between them, Will rotated slightly in his chair giving Ken time to speak.
“ I need your help with something, I know you are good friends with my father in law. ” Ken said breaking the silence that had engulfed them.
