Clary turns to Jace and starts whispering to him frantically. Probably telling him off for saying it so bluntly Isabelle guessed. She ends up dragging him into another room. Isabelle watches as the room falls silent.
"You're lying." Grace whispers quietly, as if she was trying to convince herself. Ally and Audrey didn't utter a word.
"It's not true." She says slightly louder.
"How do you know for sure." Ally asks, attempting to sound strong. "I mean Simon is still alive, right?"
"Simon is a vampire." Izzy responds.
"I know she was your friend. But wasn't she evil...?" Jamie asks, seeming to be unfazed by her death.
Audrey and Ally glare at him.
"She hurt people, didn't she?" He adds.
"The only person she ever physically hurt, was me. And I deserved it." Grace replied, her voice fragile and quiet.
"Whatever you did probably wasn't that bad." Grace glares at Jamie.
"You weren't there, how would you know." She replies bitterly.
"She used you, forced you to summon the demon!" Jamie says his voice raising slightly.
"Enough." Isabelle says, noticing flames weaving between Grace's fingers. Without another word Grace stormed out of the door, Ally glares at Jamie once more, then follows after her. Audrey and Jamie disappear soon after.Ally jogs down the street, after Grace.
"Slow down!" Ally yells, causing Grace to stop suddenly.
"Are you going to be okay?" Ally asks.
"Yes. Because it's not true." Grace replies starting to walk again.
"How?"
"What do you mean?" Grace asks turning to face Ally.
"How are you okay!?"
"Its not true." Ally looks at Grace with disbelief.
"But they just said-"
"They lied."
"Why would they lie about this!?" Ally walked after Grace, who said nothing in response.
"You can't pretend that everything's okay!" Ally grabs Grace's shoulder.
"Leave me alone Ally!"
"This was going to happen eventually." The words escaped Ally's mouth, before Ally realized what she was saying. A moment passed and they both stood in silence. Ally's hand was still gripping Grace's shoulder.
"What do you mean." She whispers.
"Your Immortal, Tj was going to die eventually, and so am I, and so is Audrey." Ally answers equally as quite.
"That doesn't mean you have to all die right now!" Grace snaps, tears brimming her eyes. "I depend on all of you so much! And I hate it!"
"We shouldn't be out here alone." Ally says quietly. "Because of the, you know, demon." Grace nods in response. They both walk back to the institute in silence.Grace hesitantly followed Ally back to the institute. Every step felt pointless, like Something had been left behind.
"Back again scout?" Jace says as the enter the institute.
"Shut up." Ally snaps as she drags Grace towards Audrey's room. They walk in and Ally slams the door behind them. Audrey looks up from whatever she was doing on her phone.
"What's wrong, besides... " Audrey asks,
"Jace is a parasite on the face of this earth" Grace mutters under her breath.
"Everything will be fine." Audrey says putting her phone down.
"Audrey. Everything, is not fine!" Ally responds coldly.
"How can you be okay with this?" Grace says leaning against a wall.
"I'm not."
"Well you seem pretty calm!" Ally snaps.
"And you seem pretty aggravated." Audrey replies flatly.
"I'm going home." Grace says walking towards the door.
"You should stay here." Audrey says, Ally mocking her in the corner of the room. Audrey shot Ally a glare, then turned back to Grace.
"No thanks. I'd rather not listen to you two bicker like children."
"You know, you don't have to take this out on us." Ally snaps.
"I'm not taking it out on you."
"Then why are you so angry."
"Do you have the memory of a concussed goldfish!" Grace snaps "Five minutes ago I was told my best friend is dead! And you have done nothing but tell me how to feel and act! Can you think about someone else for once!" Ally and Audrey kept silent.
"I know it was going to happen eventually. I just thought I had a few decades before it happened." Tears were running down Grace's cheeks as she walked out of the room.Audrey sat silently as Grace stormed out of the door. Once it had slammed behind her Audrey turned to Ally.
"You told her it was going to happen eventually! Why?" Ally remained silent.
"Ally!?"
"I'm sorry!" Ally says finally.
"Well don't tell me that!" Audrey watches as Ally slides down the wall.
"I'll apologies tomorrow."
