Chapter 2 - Truth

Grace stares at the cracks in the foot path as the walk. Taking in the  comfortable silence before its broken.
"So... your just going to keep this mystery person hidden from me?" Talysa asks. Grace looks up, moving the golden blond hair from her eyes. Ally turns around to face Talysa, her face red from the cold.
"If we told you then... " Ally trails off, looking forward and continuing down the path.
"We don't know how you would react." Grace finishes turning her gaze to Talysa her eyes looking gray I'm the dark.
"however we are here." She adds as she points to a large apartment building. Taking a breath, Grace hesitantly follows Talysa inside. Ally, who had been day dreaming and there for walked past the building, following closely behind. They walk up multiple sets of steps finally stopping outside of a door. Guilt stampedes through Grace's thoughts, she is going to be so mad, what if this ends our friendship? I don't think I'd be able to show my face in the world again. She's snapped from her thoughts when Talysa speaks suddenly
"This is Magnus's apartment, isn't it?" Talysa stares at Grace, her eyes narrowed.
"How could you keep this from me!?"
"Can we just go inside?" Grace asks, clearly trying to avoid a fight.
"I can't believe you didn't tell me we were going to see Magnus Bane!" Ally puts her hand on Talysa's shoulder and tries to speak, but Talysa cuts her off
"I would've worn Something better!" Talysa adds suddenly, the corners of her mouth turning to a smile. Ally grins, and removes her hand.
"So you aren't mad?" Grace asks, moving wisps of hair out of her eyes.
"For now" Talysa responds. Grace turns to knock on the door, her guilt growing into a physical pain in her chest. She whispers quietly as she knocks on the door.
I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry...

Ally watch's Grace knock on the door, feeling excitement bubble inside of her. Unlike Grace, she had never met Magnus, and was going to try and make a good first impression. Ally watched as the door magically swung open. Talysa looked completely in awe, and Grace walked through as if nothing had happened. Talysa went after her and Ally followed closely behind. Inside the room was Magnus, Alec, and Izzy. Ally watched as Talysa's eyes sparkle with amazement. Grace is unfazed by their presence.
"I am one hundred percent awake, right?" Talysa asks still completely shocked.
"Yes, yes you are." Grace responds, smiling for the first time tonight.
Ally smiles. All is well,  Talysa's not angry,  nothing's happened, what could go wrong.
"Hello scout." Jace says walking into the room with his hands in his. Pockets
"I'm not a scout." Grace's voice was cold, and sounded odd coming from her.
"They don't like each other" Ally whispered in Talysa's ear.
"I kinda figured that out." Talysa whispered back.
"So you're a spy then?" Jace said obviously infuriating Grace.
"No I'm not. I do errands. I don't spy on people." Grace snaps.
"Jace, leave her alone" Izzy says glaring at him.
"Wait, scout, spy, what does that mean?" Talysa says. Ally steps back knowing exactly where this is going.
"It means nothing." Grace replied looking at her feet.
"How about we get back on topic?" Ally suggests, taking another step backwards.
"Which brings me to the next question!" Talysa says her voice raising. "Why am I here? What was the purpose of coming here?"
"I thought you said you weren't angry." Grace responded, backing away slightly. Great, Somthing has gone wrong. Ally took one more step back, Talysa glared at Grace, before she can speak Ally answers.
"We we're going to wipe your memory" She stares Talysa dead in the eye, trying to somehow telepathically tell her to calm down. Tears form in her eyes as she looks back at Grace, who already had tears rolling down her face. Ally couldn't figure out what to say, Crap, this is the worst fight they've had, like ever. I don't know what to do.
"It was my idea." Ally finally choked out. "I didn't want you to get hurt." Talysa looked at her and tool a deep breath.
"Ally, you and I both know your lying" She almost looked like she appreciated the lie.
"Why aren't I Allowed to know?" She asks, her calm tone sending chills down Ally's spine. Jace answers
"We don't need you following these two around and getting yourself turned into a downworlder or killed" he gestured to Ally and Grace but it was clear that Talysa wasn't listening.
"I know you, you wouldn't have let anything happen." Talysa says "so why keep it a secret?" She didn't reply. Everyone was quiet. Ally bit her lip as she stood at the back of the room. Before anyone could react Talysa turned on her heels and run. Ally stood silently, waiting for Grace to follow her out, she didn't budge.
"I should go after her, you know, make sure she doesn't die, okay... Bye." Ally said her voice shaking. She ran down the stairs and out of the building. Talysa was already gone.
