Korbin's POV

Today the whole family is going on a surfing trip further up the Coast on our bus. We packed all of our boards, our bags, guitars, the tents, the JetSki on the trailer and food. There's one bedroom and a lounging area. We all got onto the bus and went to the bedroom, we were jumping on the bed and tackling each other, taking pictures and videos for a good half hour. Most of us then went into the lounge area, mum and dad were sitting in the driver and passenger seats. The rest of the parents were driving up on their own cars.

Holiday by Green Day starts playing. "Mum turn the radio up!" She smiles and turns it up. "Say hey!" Tyler screams and we all join in. 10 minutes later we finally arrive at the camp grounds in Tolaga Bay. We helped put up the tents and then we were all free to get into the water. The sun was up, the water was blue and the waves were pumping.

We were all racing each other to see who could catch a wave first. I see a wave coming so I turn my board around and start paddling. I'm being picked up by the wave so I quickly jump to my feet and before I knew it, I was ripping off the top of the wave. I can hear my family cheering for me and I throw them a shaka before exiting.

I see Drew sitting on the shore waiting for an adult to come out to take her in the water. Ezra runs over to her and they start making sand castles and little pools to sit in.

Meanwhile Indie is struggling to catch a wave so I paddle up behind her while a wave was coming and gave her a light push and she catches the wave and bounces along it with the biggest smile on her face. We all cheer for her and that's when some of our parents paddle out.

Dad has Drew with him on his paddle board and she sits at his feet, holding his legs tightly. She has big grin on her face and so does dad.

About 2 hours of surfing, swimming and running around on the sand mum finally tells us to come in for dinner. We all get dressed into some warm clothes and uncle Jayden lights a campfire. We all sit around the fire eating our homemade burgers, and chatting amongst one another.

Later we have our blankets wrapped around us and my dad puts another wood in the fire. We roast marshmallows and Tai and aunt Tia play a couple songs on the guitar. Tai loves it when aunt Tia plays the guitar, one day he wants to be just as good as her.

We all sing along to the guitar until we all started getting tired. Drew was fast asleep and her dad carried her toward their tent. The rest of us kids had the biggest tent and not too long after we got comfortable and warm on our beds, we were asleep.

Indie's POV
Almost a week later, it's our last night here in Tolaga Bay. Our bags and stuff were packed up inside the van and we were all sitting around by the fire when my mum speaks, "Hey everyone, Curren and I have some news" everyone turns to her with a bit of surprise. "What is it?" Aunty J'Reiy asks. Mums silent for a couple seconds and then she speaks, "We bought a house in Paia, and we're moving in a couple of weeks". "Wait what?!" Everyone screams. "Paia, Maui? As in Hawaii?" Korbin asks, dad simply nods. I can see everyone still trying to wrap their heads around it. "When are we coming back?" Tai asks quietly, "we don't know honey" mum places her hand on Tai's cheek. "Can I stay here with Aunty J'Reiy? Mum please, I don't want to leave!" I beg, "it won't be for long, I promise." Tai and Korbin walk towards the tent and leave everyone sitting here silently. "Come on kids, it's time for bed" Dad stands up and takes us to our tent.

Korbin and Tai weren't talking, they hate goodbyes and they definitely hate being separated from their family. That night it poured down with rain and in the morning we were pretty much sleeping in a puddle. Everything was saturated and we were freezing. Our parents quickly packed everything up with the help of the older boys, while us younger kids stayed warm inside the bus. I was in the middle of Savannah and Kymani. We were wrapped in a blanket on one of the couches and they were both hugging me tightly. On the other couch was Ezra, Drew and Tai. And they were also wrapped up in a blanket, hugging each other.

When we got home, a bit of the house was already packed up. And I could see how sad the boys were. They just kinda stared at the boxes sitting in the spare room and walked to their rooms. I don't know how long we're going to last being away from Gisborne for so long.
