Skylar immediately smiled when she saw Kayden sitting down while playing with his toys. "Kay" she called and he looked up and smiled, he crawled over to her and Skylar picked him up.
"You're here," Nova said then walked over to Skylar. "So did you get the job?" she asked.
"Not really I have to sign a contract that has a couple of rules, one of them says I should live there but I can't do that, Ethan will not accept it," Skylar said while looking down at Kayden. "Why does Kayden have this mark on his forehead, he didn't have it when I left," Skylar asked with a worried look on her face.
"About that, the baby's father Ethan came to the store to buy something and he saw Kayden. He got angry and walked over to me asking why is his son here with me" she paused and Skylar's eyes widen "he's crazy, he grabbed Kayden from me and he started crying. Ethan was leaving the store and he turned around so fast that Kayden bumps his head into the door. So Ethan said you can keep the baby then left" Nova said all in one breath.
"Kayden was screaming his head off and I tried calming him down, it took a while though," she said and Skylar's heart broke.
"Mommy is so sorry baby, I shouldn't have left you here" Skylar cooed.
"It's not your fault Skylar nor is it mine, does he behaves that way with you guys at home?" Nova asked and Skylar shook her head.
"No he doesn't do that maybe it's because he's drunk" Skylar lied and Nova mouthed 'Oh'.
"Well he shouldn't be drinking at all he's crazy and abusive," Nova said as Skylar grabbed the baby's bag.
"I'm sorry Nova" Skylar whispered and Nova hugged her then kissed Kayden on the cheek.
"Bye my sweet boy," she said and Skylar left the store. When Skylar got home she saw Ethan laying down on the couch.
"Sir how could you let Kayden get a mark on his forehead?" Skylar asked and he looked up at her and rolled his eyes.
"Why was my kid with the cashier?" He asked and Skylar balled her hand in a fist.
"Kayden wouldn't have been with the cashier if you would man up and take care of the baby," Skylar said and Ethan stood up. "Look at what you did to him!" Skylar shouted, she placed Kayden down in his high chair because she knew that Ethan might want to hit her.
"It's not a big deal it's a stupid fucking cut it will heal," he said and Skylar did something that she know's she would regret. She slapped Ethan on the cheek. Her heart racing she was so angry and tired of him.
"What the fuck did you just do," he said then grabbed her hand. "You fucking hit me!" He shouted the punched her in the face. Kayden started crying and Skylar fell to the floor. "Shut the fuck up kid, everything you cry for, you are nothing like me!" He shouted at Kayden.
"Leave him alone please don't hurt him" Skylar cried and Ethan stoop down then grabbed her by the throat. "I could just fucking kill you right now Skylar but then I'll have to take care of the kid and I don't want that to happen" he laughed and Skylar started running out of breath. He removed his hand from her throat and she took a deep breath then exhaled. She started coughing and Ethan smirked.
"I need a drink," Ethan said then left, Skylar stood up and walked over to a Kayden. She could tell that he was scared, she lifts him out of his highchair then held him close to her chest.
"I'm sorry baby it's okay" she cooed but he kept on crying. She walked into the room then laid Kayden down on the bed. "Don't worry we won't stay here okay?" she told him then grabbed a bag. She began packing her and Kayden's stuff inside. She quickly took out her phone then called Levi.
