- - - Kennedy's POV - - -

The full moon rested beautifully in the deep ocean colored sky. The stars shined brightly on the pavement ahead of me. The dull red and yellow leaves crunched loudly under my feet as I made my way to Harry' door. It was a pretty night, and the walk down here was a lot more peaceful than it usually was. There weren't as many people around so I could enjoy everything more.

Lately, well, lately as in the past 2 weeks, I've been coming over daily. Everyday I've been hanging out with Harry. He's been pretty consistent on asking for me to come over, but I don't mind. It's comforting to have someone there. And after he made that promise to me, I knew we would be friends for a while. Might as well enjoy it, right? I've gotten to know him a lot better, too, and everything is more relaxed. I don't get  awkward feelings around him anymore - it's as if I have known him for years, though it's only been almost 2 months. And I've grown to trust myself more with not accidentally slipping up and saying something about my tumor. He understands that I don't like hanging around many people and he understands my quiet behavior, so it's like he accepts me, but without a reason of why I act this way. Which is good enough for me. My dad wants to have a night out with my mom tonight so he told me I should go over to Harry's, which is a great idea. I don't like being around my parents when they get all lovely dovey.

I knocked on the door quietly and just as usual, Harry opened the door and had a surprised grin appear on his face.

"Kennedy! I didn't know you were coming." He grabbed my hand and pulled me inside, not bothering to let go of his grip when we sat down. He's been doing that a lot more frequently as well, more touchy. But I guess that's how friends do things. He doesn't seem weird about it.

"Sorry for just dropping in like this, my parents wanted to have a night out. I didn't want to ruin it for them." I apologized, it felt kind of rude for me to just barge in.

He laughed, "You don't need to apologize K, you can come whenevaa you want."

"Cool. So what is Curly up too on this fine night?" I playfully messed up his hair. He grabbed my other hand that he didn't have a grip on and began to fiddle with my fingers, another gesture he's picked up on.

"I actually have to go to my mum's house tonight. She's making me and my sister dinner. I would ask you to come, but it's short notice and my mom is a bit crazy when it comes to planning. If it's not planned out properly, it cannot happen." He rolled his eyes.

"No, that's fine, man. You go have fun with your family." I smiled, "But should I go home or.."

"No! You can just chill and watch tv or something, make yourself comfy. I'll be back as soon as possible."

"Thanks, but there's no need to rush, not for me."

"Please," he nudged my chin, "there actually is a need to rush because I gotta get home to my gurl, right?"

I nudged his chin mockingly, "Well yeah, can't leave a gurl hangin', but family comes first so get a move on, bud."

He gave me his cute little smirk before jumping up and walking around the couch, picking up his car keys. "ZAYNNN KENNEDY IS HERE KEEP HER COMPANY WHILE I'M GONE!" He yelled loudly, "Be back soon." He winked to me, then disappeared out the front door, for who knows how long.

I sat down, awkwardly by myself. I hoped Zayn would just ignore Harry's little request, seeing as I still wasn't any where close to being used to Zayn being around. I didn't like it, it didn't feel right. I somehow managed to avoid him the past few weeks I've been here but I should've known I wouldn't be able to keep it up. I felt the need to leave and go home, but Harry was coming back and I didn't want him to be upset if I wasn't here. But then again, maybe he wouldn't. I quietly shifted off of the couch and began to walk towards the door to leave, I could explain later, but before I could manage to get close enough to slip out, I felt Zayn's cold hand on mine.
