EPILOGUE

YEARS LATER

The doorbell rang

"Oh my God mum, hes here" my daughter panicked

"Dont worry sweetheart, calm down, it will all be fine, Im sure the boy would like you no matter what. Now Im going to go downstairs to make sure that your brothers are not doing anything they are not supposed to"

"I cant believe they flew in from college just cause Im going on my first date" she said as she wore her shoes.

I was surprised too but the twins have always been overprotective of their younger sister, a trait they took from their dad, just like everything else except their eye color which they took after me, but when it come to the height, the hair the build, it was all Ronin, Lily on the other hand completely look like her father to the T, including the eyes and even the birthmark, I felt like I lost on the battlefield of the looks of our children.

I got downstairs to see the twins standing behind their father with a wide stance and folded arms just like Ronin as he spoke to Lily's date

"You bring her home on time, if she comes back with even a scratch on her perfectly manicured nails that I  paid for, for this date, I would break you, trust me. I don't think you know I literal I meant that, but let's hope you don't find out"

"Im sure you do honey, but lets not scare the poor boy okay?" I made my way to the door,

"Roman, Ryder, I need help in the kitchen" I said to the twins, they were about to protest when I gave them a glare

"yes ma'am" they chorused and left.

I pushed Ronin to the side and invited the boy in

"Lily will be down any minute now okay?" I told him as I directed him to take his seat.

I wanted Ronin to come with me but he insisted on instilling the fear of God into the boy till Lily came downstairs.

We watched as they hugged and left for their date "Shes all grown up" he said

“Yes she is, and you have to give her more room to be herself and grow, not smolder her with your fatherliness, and stop indulging the twins" I said as I smacked his hand

"I dont do anything" he leaned in to kiss me, and I kissed him back

"Yes you do, and don't think that kiss is going to get you out of it"

"I love you so much" he said and before I could replied Roman said "Please get a room, Im not ready to see old people make out."

Ever since Ronin handed over, life has been much better, we moved to a whole new town, started our lives all over again, Ronin resumed work at one of the branches of his business that he has set up outside the mafia, and everything was golden. Do I regret everything? No, I do have some things that I wish would be different, but the fact that I can get back on my feet and still have a beautiful home at the end of it all makes me happy. I love my kids and I love Ronin.
