Season 1, Part 8 (Season Finale)

"Captain Levi, sir!" I snapped out of the grogginess, shaking my head and quickly saluting him.

"At ease. You're off duty for the moment. I'm here to tell you what happened and our new orders since you've been knocked out for the past 6 or so hours." he sighed.

"Understood. If I may ask, what is the casualty report, sir?" I nodded.

"52 deaths, 12 injured. Not a good one- and before you ask, your horse is completely fine. She's in the private stables with mine and several others." he regarded.

"That's good to hear, sir. Now may I hear my new orders?" I asked him, brushing out my matted hair with my fingers. I felt my mother's locket still around my neck, thankfully.

"While you were out, Arlert, several other cadets, myself, the commander, and Hange comprised a plan. We've been called to the royal capital tomorrow because our custody of Eren has been revoked. Arlert was able to figure out that a soldier in the MPs that he graduated with- Annie Leonhart, was the Female Titan. Due to us coming in tomorrow, she'll be stationed in Stohess, where we'll be passing through."

In summary, Mikasa, Armin, and Eren were going to lure Annie into the Underground, while the uninjured soldiers sat on the roofs and Hange set traps with the support squadron. In the Underground Eren would transform and fight Annie in an attempt to capture her. Jean would play as a decoy pretending to be Eren in a carriage,

"Oh- by the way, due to all the casualties Erwin told me to tell you that you've been promoted to first lieutenant, one rank below me. Due to this, also since both you and I are wounded, we'll be riding in the same carriage as Erwin. He specifically requested this for god knows why. We won't be able to be in combat. That okay with you?"

I touched my side, wincing a bit. "As much as I like to- I wouldn't be able to fight even if I tried. So yeah, that whole thing sounds good. What time is it now and when are we supposed to be leaving?"

"It's 3 AM now, and we're supposed to leave at 6. Get some more rest, you need it." he ruffled my hair, before turning for the door. "See you later, Valeri."

I yawned, waving at him. "Bye, Captain."

He ended up practically dragging me out of bed three hours later, and due to all the pain, he ended up dressing me myself in my simple skirt, blazer, and button up white shirt- of course I blushed while he did so! Who wouldn't blush having Captain Levi dress you?

Anyway, I ended up falling asleep on the carriage on the way to the interior. It was awkward for the Commander to see my snoring against the Captain's shoulder, as he sat there rigidly... only for me to jolt awake after hearing a large lightning strike, and the ground started rumbling. The carriage stopped immediately after.

"Eh!? Did Eren or Annie transf-" I nearly yelled, but Levi clapped a hand over my mouth. "Quiet, you!"

The three of us were then forced out into the open, and Nile Dok put Erwin under arrest.

"What!? You can't do that-" I nearly lunged at the MP commander, but Erwin held his arm out in front of me. "Lieutenant Valeri, stand your ground. You don't want to worsen your wound anyway."

We were surrounded by soldiers pointing their guns at us- there wasn't anything we could do except wait. Soon after, another bolt of lightning came down from the sky. Either Eren or Annie had now transformed now- two Titan shifters running around, oh dear.

Soon, two MPs came to report to the MP commander.

"We've got two of them hashing it out in the streets!?" he exclaimed.

"Yes sir. The houses are falling like a stack of cards." the soldier confirmed. The commander growled, before aiming his gun at Commander Erwin. "Erwin! Your arrogance has brought hell straight to our door!"
