Clothed in all majesty and splendour,
You could've stayed up there,
Allowing humanity to perish in death's hands,
And You'd still be the most just being to exist.

'Rather, You emptied Yourself,
Taking the form of a slave,
Coming in the likeness of sinful flesh,
Found in the appearance of human.

You humbled Yourself,
Becoming obedient to death,
Even death on a cross,
Making peace by Your blood.'

You lived the perfect life no one ever could,
And faced the kind of death we all deserved to.
Becoming the perfect and final sacrifice,
You paid the wages of our sins!

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly. I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep." - John 10:10,11
