"WE HAVE OFFICIAL SURVIVED the first day of school. Cheers!" Nick said as we pushed our cups together.
I sipped my chocolate milkshake while everybody was talking. I still couldn't believe that Jax didn't want to be my friend.
Maybe it was because he heard of what happened a couple of months ago. He couldn't be scared of me, could he?
"Campbell, are you going to the back to school party Friday night?" Nichole asked me as she stole a fry from Nick.
"We can't. One of Dad's new friends is coming over to dinner with his daughter and wife," I said, twirling my straw in my drink.
"Who is it?" Jordan asked, joining in our conversation.
"David Perry," I replied, making her gasp.
"David Perry?! OMG! He's an amazing surgeon. I read some of his books and I watched his documentary," Jordan exclaimed, excitedly.
"What about his wife and daughter?" Micheal asked her.
"The daughter isn't really in the spotlight. She's super shy. But his wife super nice and super pretty. What's crazy though is that she has a daughter around seventeen. The internet calls her the missing daughter," Jordan explained, making us frown.
"Why is she called the missing daughter?" Nick asked Jordan.
"Well, according to Mrs. Perry, her ex husband took the daughter away and she hasn't seen neither of them."
Before anybody could say anything, my phone rang. I looked at the screen to see Madison calling. I pressed the answer button, and her face popped up.
"Hey guys!" Madison exclaimed as I showed her everybody.
"Hi, Mads. How was your first day?" Nichole asked her.
"It was good. Everybody was super nice, and I'm hanging out with my lab partner Friday after school. I wished I was there with you guys though," Madison said.
"We miss you. It's not the same with you here," Hailey said before drinking her strawberry milkshake.
"Miss you guys too," Madison said with a sad smile.
"Madison! Come help me!" A voice in the background yelled, making Madison look back.
"Coming!" She yelled back before looking at us. "I love you guys. I'll text y'all later."
"Bye, Madison. Love you," we all said, waving goodbye.
The phone screen went back to my home screen, and I put my phone in my jacket pocket. I took another sip of my milkshake when I accidentally hit Brent's vanilla milkshake. It fell over on the table, and it created a mess. Like a huge fluffy cloud.
Brent picked up the cup, and everybody moved their drinks and phones.
"Crap, sorry Brent. I'll go get some napkins," I said before quickly walking over to the counter for napkins.
