Chapter sixteen

I arrived back at camp, As I see Don running towards me and the others following behind. They looked so worried, it made me feel guilty...

"Y/n, where have you been? We've been looking all over for you!" Don Yelled in worry.

"We aren't safe here there's monsters, I came across them as I was walking and there was this-" I got interupted by one of the younger ones screaming.

"Monsters, they're are coming!" They warned, we all looked at each other in shock as we saw monsters walking towards us.

"We have to move now!" Ray yelled at everyone as we began to run.

We ran further into the woods, Emma was ahead of us until she stopped. We all looked at each other surprised at Emma's actions it started to make us worry.

"Emma? Are you okay?" I asked in a worried tone. Emma didn't speak but looked frightened as she pointed in front of her, Two monsters stood beyond us.

The monsters came bolting at us making all of us freeze in shock, until we heard 4 shots. We open our eyes widening it to see a man holding a gun.

"You kids okay?" The man yelled we were all still in shock. Realising he was waiting for a reply, I see Emma give a nod for an answer as Ray gave a glare.

"Who are you?" Don questioned the man as he gave him a glare, I could see the man was surprised at Don's behaviour by the look on his face but replaced it with a smile after a while.

"I'm Rin Osuma, I take care of the children who escaped from the so called "orphanages." You kids aren't hurt are you? You kids must be starving, let's go to my place and I'll give you kids food and equiptments to help you" Rin offered, from the side I could see Gildas eyes widen as she looked shocked.

"we aren't the first?! There are others?!" Gilda asked the strange man called Rin.

"Yes, they're safe now from the monsters and are hidden in my home. I can take you there and you can stay as long as you like, if you just want food and equiptments then want to leave after, it's alright some kids do that... I never saw them again..." The man (Rin) said sadly in guilt looking down. We looked at each other whether to agree or disagree, we made our minds and decided to go with the man. We had nowhere else to go, no food... no supplies... we had to think of the younger ones.

As we followed the man he lead us to a huge house, when we walked there was a lot of children actually, I'm glad we aren't the only ones... I was taken out of my train of thought when Rin spoke.

"So this is my house" Rin laughed as I see Ray look at the man suspiciously.

"Everyone be kind to these children" Rin announced. We all said our greetings as we introduced ourselves.

All the children greeted us back and introduced themselves too, after a while Rin brought us to our dorms and left after he told us to come down for dinner later. As we walked in we see a girl about our age, she looked up at us from the book she was just reading shocked.

"Oh! Hello! I'm Ryu, I'm guessing you're all new?" she greeted.

"Yes nice to meet you! I'm Emma, these are Gilda, Don, Ray and Y/n they're twins" Emma introduced herself before introducing all of us as she smiled at the girl named Ryu.

"well it's a pleasure to meet you all! Sadly my friend isn't here right now to meet you guys but I'm sure he'll be downstairs for dinner! We should get ready! I'm sure all of you are hungry!" she chirped, while getting ready for dinner.

We followed along and did the same.

Time skip a little later~

After changing our clothes into new ones, we headed down for dinner. When we entered we see a few children setting the tables, I was helping set up the plates when-

"Y/n?!" A boy said in shock,

I turned around...

"Ash?" I said in shock. It was the boy who saved me earlier...
