The kingdom of Bokugyo was the neighbouring kingdom to Houzuki and was vastly different. While Houzuki was large and had an equally large castle that could be seen from anywhere, Bokugyo was small and had a temple, rather than a castle. The town was traditional and everywhere you went, you could hear the sacred songs being played by buskers that needed money. Lanterns hung from posts, stalls were selling things, the plaza was bustling and life we everywhere you looked. Blazer, Stealth and Bamboo Hat were leading the way to the temple, all catching up with Rider
"So where have you been? We haven't seen you since you took up learning magic" Blazer asked excitedly
"Well, I went to Houzuki to study magic. The king took an interest in me and I worked with him for a bit, then I resigned and went to study full time in the ancient temple, that's where I met Bobble and taught her everything I knew at the time-"
"I've been practicing ever since! I still haven't mastered bubbles yet" Bobble chimed in. Rider rolled his eyes and smiled at her
"And you are improving more and more everyday"
"Tell us more about your new friends!" Blazer said with a smile
"Ah, right. Well, as you know, Bobble is my... apprentice? Yeah, that sounds right... I met Goggles here when I was first starting magic. I still had an interest in using swords at the time, so you know, I visited the blacksmith quite a bit"
"I worked there part time for my parents, they owned the place. They would always tell me not to give people discounts but I always gave Rider discounts-"
"Wait, Goggles... speaking of your parents. Do they even know you were found?" Specs interrupted. Goggles had gone missing about a month before the other day when he was found as a dragon
"Too late to think about that. We're here!" Stealth said as he opened the big temple doors to reveal the King of Bokugyo. He was an old man, very old in fact. The two girls that sat in the thrones next to him weren't even his own children but rather, his granddaughters, Princess Marie and Princess Callie. Marie was an average height, curvy girl with short white hair that faded to lime-green that was tied into a bow at the side of her head. She had downturned eyes with golden pupils and a beauty spot under her left eye. She wore a black and green kimono with white socks on and the regular wooden sandals. Callie was slightly shorter though not as curvy as Marie. She had long black hair that faded to pink that was tied in a bow at the back of her head. Her eyes looked more emotional and wide, also with golden pupils and a beauty spot under her right eye. Her outfit was the same as Marie's except pink instead of green. They both had small tiaras atop their heads. Callie was kicking her legs back and forth under her throne, talking with her grandfather while Marie was all huddled up in her throne reading a book about something, it was hard to tell what since it looked to be in another language. Callie looked over at the guests and smiled
"Oh! Hey! Didn't see you there!" She said as she waved. The king looked at the squids and practically jumped out of his seat
"Ahh! A dragon! Great Zapfish give me strength-" Marie looked up at the squids
"Gramps, sit down. You five aren't from around here, are you?" She said looking at them, all covered in dirt, some with scars and cuts, but the most notable to her was what looked to be rope burn around Rider's neck
"You there" She said as she pointed to Rider
"Is that... rope burn on your neck?" Marie said as she sat up in her throne, putting her bookmark in and standing up, walking over to him. She inspected the burn on his neck, probably a bit too closely. Rider looked down at her and saw something he regretted. Marie didn't do her kimono up tight enough, causing it to be slightly open at the top, allowing for her cleavage to be seen. Rider immediately looked up, his face flushed with a deep red. Marie looked up at him
"What?" She said with an annoyed tone. Rider shook his head
"N-No! Nothing!" He sputtered out. Marie rolled her eyes
"Where did you get this burn?" Marie asked as she took a step back. Rider looked down again
"Well... the Queen tried to hang him" Goggles said to answer Marie's question
"The Queen? Of what kingdom?" Callie said as she stood up
"Houzuki" Bobble said as she took a step forward
"But Houzuki has a king" King Cuttlefish said as he stood up as well, grabbing his cane
"Not anymore, Rider killed him" Headphones said nonchalantly. Rider elbowed her in the arm. Marie, Callie and King Cuttlefish froze in place, staring at Rider
"You did what?!" Callie and Marie shouted in unison. Rider looked away and nervously scratched the back of his head
"Maybe...?"
"Don't play dumb." Marie said as she crossed her arms. She sighed
"I guess that's why you ran from Houzuki. Well, we are the kingdom in alliance to Houzuki... I don't think they'd look for you here! Can they stay with us Gramps?! Pleeeaaaaasssee?"Callie said with a smile
"Okay Callie, they can stay" King Cuttlefish said as he walked towards the squids. He held his hand out
"I'm King Craig Cuttlefish! But you can just call me whatever you like!"
"Can I call you Grandpa?!" Goggles asked with a big smile on his face
"Sure! Go ahead!" Everyone just stared at Goggles, then to 'Gramps'. Rider face palmed
"If you are going to stay here, then we should go out and explore the town" Marie said calmly
"If we are going outside, shouldn't you maybe tighten your kimono?" Rider said to Marie. The princess's face went red as she slapped Rider across the face before covering the exposed part of he chest
"YOU PERVERT!" Marie cried out. Callie rushed over
"Marie, it was bound to happen! I always tell you to tighten it in the morning!" Callie reassured as she put a hand on Marie's shoulder. Rider rubbed the cheek that Marie slapped
"Ow... you slap hard..." Rider said as Goggles walked over next to him, smiling at the princesses
"So... are we going to explore?"
"Yeah, lets go!" Callie said enthusiastically. Everyone went out through the entrance to the temple and started to explore. The market was quite extensive, shops everywhere. The people running the shops would stop to bow to Marie and Callie, they were royalty after all. Everyone had split up. Specs was wandering off to find book shops, Goggles and Callie were getting food, Marie, Bobble and Headphones were looking at clothing shops while Rider was just wandering, lost in thoughts, all alone. Callie and Goggles looked up from food to see Rider all alone, Goggles shot out of his chair and ran over to him, followed by Callie
"Hey Rider, wanna come explore with Callie and I?" Goggles asked as he felt Rider's hand brush past his
"Yeah, sure. I'm bored of just wandering alone. Let's go."
"Yay!" Goggles exclaimed as he grabbed Rider's hand. Rider blushed but held it back anyways. Callie looked down to see the handholding and couldn't help but quietly fangirl squeal. Callie began to run off
"C'mon you love birds! Let's go!"
"W-what?!" Goggles exclaimed
"Who are you calling lovebirds?!" Rider yelled as he and Goggles started to run after her
