Chapter 15

Chapter Fifteen: Confessions

Matapos namin kumain ay nag-swimming na kami. Si Kirby at Sei may sariling mundo, habang kaming tatlong babae ay nasa may sulok lang ng pool habang nagk-kwentuhan.

"Anong plans mo after nito?" Day asked me.

"Mag-aapply na 'ko ng trabaho. Besides, I worked hard for this, I should start doing what I want to," I answered.

"Mahirap ba kapag may trabaho na?" she asked Arie.

Mas nauna kasing gumraduate sa'min si Arie dahil Accounting ang course niya which is a four-year course. Kaya naman last year ay hindi niya muna kami kinontact dahil magsusunog daw muna siya ng kilay. Thankfully, nakapasa naman siya ng board exam and she's currently working.

"Ang totoo nagco-collegiate pa lang ako ngayon. Hindi ko pa sinusubukang pumasok sa mga companies dahil natatakot din akong ma-pressure sa trabaho," she answered.

"But, that's the reason why we studied right?" I said.

"Yeah, but, that would be a goodbye to a carefree life. We will now be handling the pressure of a real workplace, where we were not allowed to make mistakes," Day sighed. "Natatakot ako."

"I think you just have to be in control of the situation. If you're afraid to make mistakes, then do your best," I encouraged.

"Pero alam mo," Arie said. "May isa pang paraan para mawala ang worries mo."

"Ano?" Day asked her eagerly.

Arie gave her a wide smile then said, "'Wag ka nang mag-trabaho. Tumambay ka na lang!"

"Naman eh!" she pouted.

But honestly, I couldn't help not to worry about it too. We are now facing the real life. We're over with lessons. Now the lessons we'll take would from our mistakes, not books. Because we're not students amymore.

"Don't dwell on it too much," Arie said. "Si Zoe nga bukod sa work may lovelife pa."

"Bakit ako?" I asked at the sudden shift of the topic.

"Ikaw at si Sei!" she answered matter of factly. "Long distance! Not to mention sobrang sikat pa ng jowa mo."

"Hindi kami, okay?" I said but even I was disappointed at the thought.

"Magiging kayo din," she said. "Hindi naman kayo maglalandian habang buhay."

"Ikaw Arie," Day said. "May boyfriend ka ba?"

Nagkatinginan kami ni Arie at sabay na napatawa sa tanong ni Day.

"Boyfriend ba?" Arie asked. "Hindi ako nawawalan n'un," she merely joked but did not elaborate.

Isa din siguro 'yun sa mga dahilan kung bakit hindi nagkaroon ng something between her and Kirby. Arie didn't stop her habit of liking guys. Though, even I, did not know the reason behind this. It's enough for me to know that Arie is a good person, and I like her as a friend.

Nang umahon kami pare-pareho, nagkayayaan pa sila na mag-inuman. Pumayag na din ako kahit hindi ako umiinom. This is a celebration. As Day said, a goodbye to a carefree life.

Kahit na nag-inuman kami, ay hindi kami nagpakalasing. Tig-iisang bote lang kami ng light alcoholic beverage. Eight percent nga lang yata ang alcohol n'un eh kaya no worries kahit first time ko.

"Kirby," Day said. "Bakit kayo nagkahiwalay ni Elisse?"

Nasa kalagitnaan kami ng serious converstaion nang tanungin 'yun ni Day.
