Chapter 2

The bell screamed.. yes screamed. I'm searching for my next class making sure I make it on time.

"Ms.Clawthorne" I heard a masculine voice call from behind me. I turn around, "actually it's Noceda". The masculine voice to my surprise was the principal, "Luz I need you in my office, now". I got a bit scared but I just grabbed my stuff and followed him.

The hallways cleared of students and I followed the principal down a narrow hallway and into his office. We walked into his tiny office and he sat down in a rather big chair behind his desk then gestured to the chair in front of him.

I hesitantly sat down fearing the possibility of him taking away my chance to go to school. I love it here, I'm glad I have this opportunity! I can't let his take this away! I stood up dramatically, "Principal bump I-" "So which one do you want" he interrupted me. "What?" I slowly sat down and he pointed towards the photos of different classes over his head, "Which class do you want to study" I shrugged and studied every individual class, "hm, I'm not sure, they all look so nice" he sighed, "here just take this pass", I looked down and he had a piece of paper in his hand.

"What's this?" I took a look at it and it read "hall pass" in big bold letters at the top. "Use this and go visit some classes and make a decision" I nodded "But what about the classes I have on this schedule", I held up my paper with my classes on it. He then with a move of his index finger burnt the paper into dust, "That won't matter for when you pick your new class" I smiled and nodded, "I won't let you down!" he gave me a confused stare and just shrug and gestured towards the door.

I got excited and hopped out of my seat and ran out the door. I walk around aimlessly peering in classes and watching students learn. It's amazing how this school has so many classrooms and so many teachers. I turned a corner and peered into a dimly lit classroom. I saw willow and grew a huge smile on my face as I franticly waved outside the window. Our eyes locked and she smiled and slightly waved trying not to draw attention to me.

The door opened and I fell back. The teacher came out and looked down at me. I nervously smiled and she scolded at me. "Why are you peering in my classroom student" I got up and brushed the dirt from the floor off my pants.

I held out my hand, "Hi I'm luz and uh-" "and what." I nervously put my hand away, "well principal bump said to check out some classrooms so I can pick my class." Her eyebrows raised in concerned, "and here I thought you were a trouble maker, come in", she held the door for me and gestured for me to come in. I excitedly walked in and immediately sat next to willow.

"Hi, Willow!" I gave willow a big hug. "Hey Luz, hehe", she hugged me back. "So what's this class about", willow gestured to the pot with soil in it on our desk, "we're just going over some basic spells, like this", willow waved her finger around in a circle, and a plant bloomed from the soil! I gazed at the plant in disbelief. Everyone around me started to clap.

The teacher looked at willow and smiled, "Ms. Willow, at least let me get through the lesson first before you show off", she spoke with a joking tone. Willow giggled, I took another seed from the paper towel in front of us on the table and shoved it in the soil, "Do it again willow", she sighed, "okay but only a little bit" she waved her finger around and this time made a small circle, I took out my phone and took a picture of her. The plant grew only halfway.

"That's so cool", I looked at the picture and saw an outline of the spell. I got out my notepad and wrote it down, I put the piece of paper on the pot and gave it a gentle tap. The paper disappeared and the plant grew to full size. Everyone started whispering, the teacher turned around, "ah so it seems willow is rubbing off on the new student", the teacher walked up to us and examined the plant, "you both are gonna do very well, Luz I hope you choose this as your class"

I smiled, "Hehe maybe, speaking of classes I should probably go and check out some other ones" I got up and waved to everyone.

"Bye Luz"

"Bye willow"

I exit the classroom and continue down the empty hallway, I turned a corner and was met with us. "Gus? Wait why are you here?" He looked up "Luz? Oh! Sometimes I have a duplicate take over my classes" he gestured towards a door, I peered in and it was his duplicate in an ordinary classroom.

"So what do you do all day", he turned the corner and gestured me over to him, "Wanna see something cool?", I shrugged, "sure why not?"

We made our way down the cafeteria and stopped at the vending machine, with a wave of a finger he duplicated himself into the vending machine and started throwing snacks out the little drawer, "wow that's so cool", I picked up what looks like a snicker and are it. "Wow, this is really good!" Gus chuckled, "you know you can always depend on me for a good snack!" I nodded in agreement

The bell rang alarmingly, "I gotta go, Luz!" I gave him a thumbs up and he quickly ran off. There was a stamped of children my age traveling through the halls and into the cafeteria. I got into the hallways but only by hovering over the lockers. I kept walking then I bumped into someone, I looked up, "Amity?"
